Why Did Billie Help Jess Out?

“National Treasure: Edge of History” Episode 6 begins in Billie’s car, where Billie started acting nice to Jess all of a sudden. Billie took her to a restaurant, where she told her about her brother’s death and why she felt compelled to find the treasure boxes. She showed Jess a photo of her brother Sebastian and Jess’ father, Rafael that appeared to be photoshopped. However, Billie shared important information, revealing that Salazaar was the actual bad guy responsible for the deaths of both her brother and Jess’ father. As Billie showed her a medallion just like the one she had, Jess started to trust her. She thought Billie was a Plumed Serpent’s daughter as well, and she wanted to safeguard the treasure. Billie drove Jess to her boat and introduced Kacey, the fake FBI agent whom Jess had previously seen in “National Treasure: Edge of History” Episode 1. As soon as Billie handed the journal to Jess, she noticed a ribbon around it. When she laid it on the journal, the ribbon’s markings led Jess to solve the puzzle and figure out that the treasure was in the Alamo well. But the Alamo had become a popular tourist destination, so how would they get inside the well, let alone find the box inside?

Billie had a solution. She showed her two relics, which had already been in her possession, and Jess inquired as to how she obtained the jade box. So, Billie informed her that Liam had sold her the jade box. Jess remembered Liam telling her that the box had vanished after his father’s accident. Jess was very upset to find out that Liam was the real traitor. Billie demonstrated how these boxes could magnetically attract each other, implying that they would have to take these boxes with them while sneaking into the well. They visited the location using virtual reality and discovered that there were high-security measures and an immovable iron guard on the well. So, they devised a strategy to enter there dressed as reenactors. Jess returned to her home and discovered Tasha was going live with her fan base. She admitted to Tasha that she had been correct about Liam, who had previously leaked information and sold the relics to Billie. She didn’t want to involve her friends again because she had already lost her father in this treasure hunt. So, she picked a fight with Tasha to upset her so she wouldn’t join her plan. Tasha left Jess’ house and went to Oren’s to spend time with him. Ethan found out the next day that Tasha and Jess had fought, so he went to meet Jess. Jess told him that their plan to dance at the gala might have upset his girlfriend, Meena.

Moreover, because of that dance, she had completely missed the fact that Liam had stolen the journal. Jess considered speaking with Liam. So, she went to Sadusky’s house, where she discovered that all of Sadusky’s valuables were scattered, and that Liam was not present. When she went looking for him, a white-haired man attacked her. Thankfully, Kacey had saved Jess from the guy. According to Kacey, this guy was a man sent by Salazaar, who wanted to finish off Jess and whoever else had their eyes set on treasure. Billie had little faith in Jess, and Jess suspected that Kacey had been following her. The following day, Billie, Kacey, and Jess visited the Alamo Museum in Texas. They went as reenactors when they entered the building.

During a street play where people were impersonating Indigenous warriors fighting Americans, Billie’s team sneaked inside the museum and used a stun pistol to take down a security guard. Billie kept an eye out to see if any security staff were approaching to arrest them as Jess snuck inside the well. In order to stop the security guards from entering, Kacey went outside. After returning from the well, Jess informed Billie that she had not found anything there. Billie became suspicious and sneaked inside the well on her own to look for the relic. But as soon as she entered the well, Jess shut the entrance with the iron guard, trapping Billie inside. Meanwhile, Tasha received Jess’ note, and with Oren, she had also arrived at the Alamo.  When Tasha saw Jess exiting the museum, she assisted her in getting into their van. Kacey tried everything she could to stop Jess, but she failed.

What Happened To Liam?

Meanwhile, Ethan went to his girlfriend Meena’s workplace, a hospital. Meena had ended their relationship after discovering that Ethan was not himself in front of her. Meena suspected Ethan had feelings for Jess and didn’t want to be the third wheel in their lives. Ethan said goodbye to Meena but then found a janitor carrying clothes that Liam had worn to the gala. Ethan learned that Liam had been admitted to the hospital with severe injuries. He asked Liam what had happened to him, and he replied that he had already noticed that Billie had entered the gala. Therefore, he had stolen the journal right away to prevent Billie from getting her hands on it, but he was caught by Kacey, who beat him unconscious. This showed that Billie was the one who falsely accused Liam of being a traitor, whereas Liam had no interactions with her at all. Nevertheless, Billie had created a drama to deceive Jess and enlist her assistance in finding the treasure boxes. Billie, however, had failed because Jess was too intelligent to fall for her ruse.

After escaping the museum, Jess explained to Tasha that she didn’t believe Billie’s story about her brother knowing Rafael because their picture was obviously photoshopped. But the surprise was that Jess received these two relics, which she carried with her while entering the well. She took those boxes as well as the clue to finding the third one in Alamo, in Mexico. The Mexican town Viesca was previously known as Alamo, and the third relic would be found in a well somewhere in that town. When Billie emerged from the well, Kacey assured her that she would handle Jess. She called another employee of Billie and it turned out to be none other than the nurse of Peter Sadusky. He informed the FBI that he was aware that Peter Sadusky had been killed by Jess Valenjuela. Ross, an FBI agent, was shocked to hear the news, but if she had the brains, she would have known that a murderer wouldn’t come to the FBI to discuss the murder unless they weren’t full-blown psychopaths. We’ll find out in the upcoming episode what will happen to Jess. Would she be arrested by the FBI, or would she travel to Mexico to find the third relic?
