Why Did Joe Follow Kate?

Episode 3 of “You” Season 4 begins at Joe’s house, where Joe is trying to figure out what to do about the stalker. The stalker, however, gathered all the evidence available on Joe, leaving no room for Joe to avoid his messages. But Joe determined that he needed to change his locks first before attempting to track down the murderer. After arriving at the university, Joe learned that the news of Malcolm’s murder had been out, but his body had not been discovered except for his pinky finger, which we saw had been cut off his hand in Episode 1. Joe was surprised to find his student Nadia so upset about Malcolm’s death, given that she had an affair with him. When Joe returned home, he discovered that his neighbor, Kate, had already spoken with the police. Kate noticed Joe peering through her window and warned him to mind his own business.

Next up, the investigators arrived on Joe’s doorstep. Joe kept his cool and answered their questions, even giving them a tip about Blue, with whom Malcolm was about to expose Simon Soo. Joe found Nadia looking for something near Malcolm’s house. Joe couldn’t resist his curiosity and asked what she was up to. Nadia previously wrote a letter to Malcolm, and she was now concerned that if Malcolm’s house was inspected, her letter might be discovered, tying her further into this mess. Joe reassured her that he would handle it. On Phoebe’s invitation, Joe attended Simon’s wake, but Kate objected to his presence.

As the secret texter was playing with Joe’s mind and urging him to kill Kate, Joe felt it was his responsibility to protect her. While suspecting each member of this elite group, he continued to watch over her. Meanwhile, when Rhys Montrose gave a eulogy, Joe was deducing the likelihood of him killing Malcolm and Simon. However, he wanted to rule him out because Rhys would be running for mayor, and it would be risky for him to kill people anonymously. Despite Kate’s objections, Joe followed her everywhere after the wake. Joe even tried to convince her that she needed protection in light of all the recent homicides, but a stubborn feminist, Kate turned him down.

Why Did Joe Need To Kill Vic?

These two eventually crossed paths in a bar, and Kate invited him to a hidden location. Since Kate was incapable of expressing her sadness, joy, or other feelings from her very childhood, she didn’t appear like a grieving girlfriend. She was grieving on the inside, but she had been craving Joe physically. The two of them engaged in sexual activity together in a private location, but we were aware that someone was keeping an eye on them, and that someone was none other than Vic. Joe awoke at Kate’s house, relieved to see that Kate was still alive. He entered Malcolm’s study and found Nadia’s letter hidden behind a portrait of Malcolm’s rich and arrogant face. Kate caught him with the letters in his hand, but Joe got the one Nadia had written for Malcolm. Later, Kate left his house, and Joe followed her. This time, she approached a crypt to express her grief for Malcolm.

After Kate left, Joe scouted the area but was captured by Vic, who began to suspect Joe was the Eat-That-Rich-Killer (a nickname given to the serial killer) who had been cold-bloodedly killing all those wealthy people. He also discovered Malcolm’s ring in Joe’s pocket. Joe was certain that someone had planted the ring in his pocket in order to frame him, but Vic was skeptical. As Vic became increasingly desperate to take Joe into custody, Joe had no choice but to end his life. He strangled Vic to death and buried him in an unusual location. Previously, we saw Vic claiming to be Phoebe’s closest friend, but after his disappearance, Phoebe didn’t even bother to ask where he was. Due to their obsession with fame and wealth, these wealthy and privileged individuals didn’t even bother about common people’s life and death. Joe called Nadia to his home and handed her the letter, believing she was the only good person he knew who should not be dragged down in this case. Later, he joined the elite group at a hotel but was taken aback when investigators approached him. Joe agreed to provide them with information, but what would become of him? Did the police discover his true identity, or was it just an inquiry? Let’s find out in the coming episodes of “You” Season 4.
