Why did Manya start terrorizing Shoaib’s family?

Shoaib was a taxi driver who lived in the slums of Mumbai with his mother, who suffered from Alzheimer’s. Her memory had started to fade and she often forgot things, especially that Shoaib’s father had died 16 years ago, and as a result, she still made coffee for him, ironed his clothes, and lived in denial, as if he was still alive. Shoaib had never planned to live like this. He had left Dongri to build a better life and even went to Australia to study. But when his mother’s condition worsened, Shoaib had no choice but to come back and care for her and leave his dreams behind. The one bright spot in Shoaib’s life was his girlfriend, Lucky, who worked at a café. But Shoaib had fallen in with the wrong crowd, like Manya, a drug addict and dealer who worked for a notorious boss known as Acid Tai. One night, while Shoaib and Manya were talking near his car, a police vehicle approached them. When Manya started to panic he left a green jacket stuffed with drugs in Shoaib’s car and ran off. Shoaib tried to protect his friend and took the jacket to hide it at home. However, a short circuit happened when his mother, in her confusion, tried to iron his deceased father’s clothes. The fire destroyed the jacket, or so Shoaib thought, because when he looked for it later, it was gone. Manya spiraled deeper into his addiction and became aggressive as they could not find the bag. So, he threatened Shoaib to get the jacket back, as it contained drugs worth 20 lakhs. Shoaib knew if he didn’t return the drugs or the money, Manya’s boss, Acid Tai, would come after his family and ruin their lives.

How did Paddy end up with Lucky and Shoaib?

On the other side, we meet Akash, a pilot who just wanted  a luxurious life. He worked tirelessly for it, but in the process, he neglected his family. He never realized that his wife had an affair with a man named Javed, as he did not give her the love and attention she wanted. Akash had no clue about this until one day, when he went to drop their son, Paddy, off at school. That morning, he saw his wife hug and kiss another man after she got into a car with him. Akash was completely shocked. Naturally, he never expected something like this from her, and in panic and anger, he followed them and saw them enter a hotel. He knew he couldn’t take Paddy with him, as he thought it would be too much for the poor boy to handle. So he made a very impulsive decision and left Paddy at a nearby café where Lucky worked and asked her to keep an eye on him. Akash then rushed to the hotel, determined to catch his wife red-handed. What he discovered was worse than he imagined—they weren’t just involved in an affair for fun, they planned to get married. Akash was devastated, but he knew he had to pull himself together for his son. So after he composed himself from the shock, he went back to the café to get Paddy, only to find that Lucky had left with him. What Akash didn’t know was that Shoaib had come to take Lucky home because he feared that Manya and Acid Tai might hurt her. So, Lucky took Paddy with her to keep him safe. Shoaib and Lucky brought Paddy to Lucky’s house, and his parents didn’t even know where he was.

What did Acid Tai want?

What Shoaib and Lucky feared most came true. Acid Tai showed up at their house with her gang to threaten them. She warned Shoaib that if she didn’t get the jacket filled with drugs, worth 20 lakhs, she’d burn Lucky’s pretty face with acid. Shoaib was terrified as he knew he couldn’t come up with that kind of money, but he also had to protect the people he loved. In desperation, Shoaib decided to use Paddy as a way to buy some time and told Acid Tai that they could call Paddy’s wealthy parents and demand money in exchange for the boy’s safe return. Acid Tai saw an opportunity to exploit the situation. Even though the drugs were worth 20 lakhs, she demanded 2 crores from Paddy’s parents as she knew they could pay more. Shoaib had no choice but to contact Paddy’s parents and tell them to gather the money if they wanted their son back. Meanwhile, he tried to figure out a way to fix everything. Then, out of the blue, Shoaib’s mother suddenly opened the almirah and pulled out the green jacket—she had neatly put it away and forgot about it because of her memory issue and did not realize the trouble it had caused. Shoaib thought this was the solution to all his problems. With the jacket back, he could return the drugs to Acid Tai, keep everyone safe, and bring Paddy back to his parents. But Acid Tai did not want to let things end that easily. She kept the jacket for herself and still demanded money from Paddy’s family as she was an extortionist and she would always want more.

What happened to Shoaib?

Akash tried to do everything he could to gather the money for Paddy’s ransom, but he knew they needed more help. So, he reached out to the airport police as he hoped they could provide support. However the officers there made their own shady deal and told Akash not to involve the real police and promised to help—whereas with the Mumbai police they made a deal to split the money 50-50. Their plan was to let Akash bring the money, then take down the gang with their backup and split the cash. It was clear they only cared about themselves, not Paddy’s safety. Meanwhile, Shoaib and Manya were on their way to meet Akash and collect the ransom. But when they got there, Shoaib received a frantic call from Lucky who told him that one of Acid Tai’s men, named Altaf, had killed Shoaib’s mother, and Lucky had snuck out of the house with Paddy to keep him safe. Shoaib was heartbroken and furious. Everything he had done to protect his family had gone wrong.  As soon as Shoaib arrived at the meeting spot, chaos started, and in his rage, he started to fire his gun. Manya, equally desperate, began to shoot too. At the same time, the corrupt police officers, eager to claim the money, joined the gunfight. In the crossfire, Manya was shot and died in Shoaib’s hands. Shoaib himself was hit in the stomach but, luckily, he wasn’t killed. On the other hand, the greedy officers turned on each other as they wanted the money. So, Akash realized that these men had betrayed him and feared they might have harmed Paddy too. So in anger, he shot the officer dead. Just when Akash lost all hope to get Paddy back, Shoaib, wounded but alive, told Akash that Paddy was safe with Lucky. Moments later, an ambulance arrived to help Shoaib. Soon after, Lucky appeared at the scene with Paddy, unharmed. Akash, overwhelmed with relief, was finally reunited with his son, while Shoaib was taken to the hospital, but he was relieved to find out that at least Paddy was safe in the end.

In Visfot’s ending, things settled down, but it seemed like Akash and Shoaib’s story wasn’t over just yet. After the divorce from his wife, Akash made a decision—to meet his son Paddy on a weekly basis. He let his wife go and left her to be happy with her new lover, Javed, and moved out of their home. Funny enough, he had decided to stay at the very hotel where he had caught her red-handed for the time being. But at the end of the movie, we see when Akash hopped in a car to go to the hotel, the car parked out front belonged to none other than Shoaib. It seemed like fate had brought them together again. Despite all the chaos they’d been through, this looked like the start of an unlikely new friendship.
