Spoilers Ahead

How did Vicky and Vidya get married?

The movie began with Vidya, an MBBS doctor, who was about to get engaged to a rich businessman her parents chose. Unbeknownst to anyone, she was in love with Vicky, a popular local henna artist who was invited to apply mehendi on every occasion. Vidya and Vicky knew her parents would not agree to their match if he directly asked them. They chose a different route, which started with them planting a seed of suspicion into the mind of Vidya’s soon-to-be fiancé about her relationship with Vicky. Both were successful in doing so, and the man refused to get engaged to Vidya.

Even though Vidya and Vicky denied being in a relationship, she pretended to agree to marry the person that ended her engagement. Vidya’s parents also came from a generation that was willing to get her married to anyone since her engagement had been broken over allegations of an affair. This was a win-win situation for Vidya and Vicky, and they got married as a part of the community weddings aka ‘samuhik vivah’ held in their town. These community weddings were conducted by a rich businessman, Sajjan Kumar, who was good friends with Vicky himself.

What did Vicky suggest for their honeymoon?

Vicky and Vidya planned to go to Goa for their honeymoon while their parents wanted them to head to Vaishnodevi, a Hindu pilgrimage spot. Vidya and Vicky went ahead with their Goa plans, and they were elated about their trip. On reaching Goa, Vicky shared his desire to record their intimate moments on their camcorder. The idea was to spice up their marriage in the future if they were to go through a rough patch. Vidya was initially not in favor of it, but she was a witness to many foreigners in Goa being comfortable with public displays of affection and saw how deeply they were connected. She eventually agreed to it and they recorded a video as Vicky asked.

How did the CD get stolen?

On coming back from Goa, Vicky got the footage burned on a CD, and they wanted to watch it once. Vicky put the CD in the device, and the couple was excited to watch it. That night their home was robbed and Vicky was stunned to find out the CD player, which had the private CD in it, was also stolen. He initially did not share this news with Vidya as he knew she would flip out. The police had to be informed about this. Police Officer Laadle, who was known more for his swag than actual police work, was asked to look into the matter. Laadle, on the other hand, was interested in  Vicky’s older sister Chanda, who was known for running away from her home many times. This time Chanda was back for good, and she also lost many things in the robbery.

How did Vicky meet Baadshah?

Vicky was desperate to know who could have stolen the CD player as he wanted the CD before Vidya found out. Officer Laadle’s subordinate let Vicky know about the market where thieves usually sell their stolen goods. Vicky ran into Baadshah, but he was not aware the man was the thief. However, the next day, to his luck, Vicky found a tourist holding a sword he knew belonged to his father. The tourist claimed to have bought it from the market Vicky had been to. The person who sold the sword let Vicky know that Baadshah was the biggest thief around, and directed him to visit a hotel that he frequented.

Was Badshaah dead or alive?

Around that time, someone had stolen Pardesi’s car. Pardesi was a local tourist photographer who was known to be a womanizer. He was desperately looking for his car, and he found one repainted in the same town. He tried to corner Baadshah, but before he could reach the hotel, Vicky confronted the thief’s in his hotel room. Vicky assumed Baadshah was dead and tried to run away with his CD player he found in the room. Officer Laadle was also tipped off about Baadshah the thief, but he found Vicky escaping the room from the balcony. He was arrested for attempted murder as Baadshah was in a coma. From the room, the police seized everything, including the CD player, which Vicky was holding onto. Thankfully the CD in it was not the one he was looking for, and painfully he had to inform Vidya that that was why he was worried all this while.

Why did Vicky attempt suicide?

Vidya was angry at him for putting her through this ordeal. Since anyone could have that CD by now, it was mortifying, as this small mistake might cost them their dignity in front of their parents. Vicky assumed Vidya would leave him and end the marriage. As a result, he attempted to kill himself. Vidya saved him in no time, as she wanted to deal with this ordeal together. Since both were consenting adults when the video was made, both should involve themselves to find the CD.

Who was blackmailing Vicky and Vidya?

Baadshah came out of a coma and revealed to the police that Bulbul Didi, a fake godwoman, and her henchmen had beat him up in the room. Baadshah had owed him some money, and since he was unable to do that, they left his room with a bag full of CDs. Bulbul Didi and her henchmen began to blackmail Vidya, stating that they had the CD with their video on it, and demanded two lakhs. Vidya and Vicky had no clue how to get that big an amount in a short period. Amidst all the chaos, Vicky’s father got involved in this threat, as he believed someone had leaked his private video.

Vicky’s father gave his son and daughter the money demanded by the blackmailers. The couple headed to the graveyard where the blackmailer planned to meet them to exchange it with the CD. On reaching the graveyard, there was utter chaos involving a burial that was taking place of a man named Christian D’Costa (CD, get it?). The chaos involved Officer Laadle and his lady interest, Chanda, who reached the graveyard in no time and arrested Bulbul Didi and her henchmen for their many illegal activities, including the blackmailing Vidya and Vicky endured.

Did Baadshah reveal the real culprit?

The CD was retrieved, but to Vidya and Vicky’s horror, it contained footage of the first night they spent in a hotel. The hotel expense had been paid by the rich businessman who had organized the community wedding. Vidya and Vicky’s wedding was a part of it as well, as mentioned above. Vidya realized the CD that they themselves had made was still out there, and along with that, this new footage that had been made long before they had shot their video. Vidya was close to losing her mind as she felt betrayed by her husband, who she assumed had bugged their room on their first night. There was a large plot hole that the makers just ignored. In the beginning of the film, the makers stated the couple spent their first night at Vicky’s home. However, according to this footage, the couple was in a hotel room. This does not make sense, as the makers simply ignored this mistake. Vicky claimed he knew who might have made this video of theirs.

Bulbul Didi, her henchmen, and Baadshah were tied to the railway tracks until they revealed who they worked for. This was a rather comic take on police brutality. The hilarity lay in the fact that the oncoming train change tracks. This humor was the crux of the film, and as a result, Baadshah ended up revealing the full story. Baadshah had nothing to lose at this point, since he was going to jail for many years for the robberies he committed. Baadshah revealed that the car he stole belonged to Pardesi and the bag full of CDs belonged to him. Bulbul Didi only accidentally came across these CDs and planned to use them to her benefit.

Who was the mastermind behind making the illegal adult tapes?

Vicky and Officer Laadle got hold of Pardesi in no time, and it was assumed till that moment that he was the culprit behind making all the illegal videos. A beaten-to-pulp Pardesi revealed that the mastermind behind this racket was Sajjan Kumar. He also added that Sajjan Kumar used to send these videos to a sheikh in Dubai and made money out of it. This final reveal was a bit too much, because until this time Sajjan Kumar was seen as a comic figure. Suddenly turning him into a villain was uncalled for, and it changed the narrative to a serious one in no time. The only way to get Sajjan Kumar to get him to  confess to his role in making illegal adult videos, as there was no major evidence pointing towards him. Vidya, Vicky, Officer Laadle, and Chanda joined hands to conduct another community wedding.

To Sajjan Kumar’s shock, one of the couples in the wedding was his daughter getting married to a man from another community. Her father was taken aback, but since it was happening in front of the public, he had no option but to accept her. This was done to corner Sajjan, as he was clearly afraid of the fact that his daughter’s video with her husband would be captured too. Sajjan was desperate to track down his daughter and her husband, but he could not find them. Officer Laadle, who came forward as the sheikh from the Middle East, got his hands on the hard disk that contained all the videos. This was just a scare tactic to make Sajjan Kumar panic, as he did not want his daughter to go through the fate that he put other men and women through.

Vicky played the video on a big screen at the event when his daughter revealed that she knew what her father was up to. This embarrassed Sajjan, because for the first time he was ashamed of the work he did, because it involved his daughter. Him earning money off the video of his daughter and her husband was morally wrong on many levels.

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video from this point on went on a moral messaging rampage as one person after another shamed Sajjan Kumar into admitting his mistake. Vicky went on to talk about mistakes people made, indicating the fact that he and Vidya had blundered by videotaping themselves. The couple did not reveal what they did, but it was understood from his monologue that they were feeling guilty. Their search for that one CD led to them unearthing this scam. Even though Sajjan Kumar apologized profusely, there was no mention of whether Officer Laadle had him arrested. The makers spoke about the problem and the crime, but there was nothing indicating the fact that there would be consequences for their actions.

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video ended with Vidya and Vicky still hoping to find their CD that was missing. They were genuinely worried and had almost lost hope. The couple stood strong throughout their ordeal. They faced this issue right at the start of their marriage. If they get the CD back, there would be nothing that could shake them up after this incident. To Vidya’s shock, Vicky’s nephew found a CD below their bed. She was quick to deduce that the CD they were searching for had been in their house all these days. A flashback showed that the CD fell from the player when Baadshah was robbing the house. The kid ran away with the CD, a characteristic found in every pre-teen child born in a middle-class small-town household. Vicky’s maid was also shifting out of their home, the CD accidentally fell in their moving truck. This chaos was bound to happen, as the whole theme of the film is such. The couple was never destined to get their hands on the CD. The end of the film indicates a second part of the film that would expand on where the CD will take Vicky and Vidya.
