The Perfect Couple is a brand-new Netflix Original, a whodunit drama with a hint of comedy as well. A murder was discovered hours before a wedding, and the investigation that follows makes up the show. There are multiple suspects, which means there are a number of potential motives behind the murder, forcing all the characters to stay in the house they were at as most of them had come to attend the wedding. This makes the character list long, as the police have left no suspect out of the investigation.

Greer Winbury
The amazing Nicole Kidman is Greer Winbury, the control freak, self-obsessed mother of Thomas, Benji, and William. She is the author of a famous series of books and has a close-knit family and fairytale marriage with Tag Winbury. Tag owns a large amount of assets he claims to have inherited from his family.
Greer does not like the woman his older son Thomas is married to, and is very vocal about her dislike for Benji’s fiancée, Amelia. She is also someone who is quietly aware of the fact that her husband is far from perfect as she finds out about his affairs and the gifts he is purchasing for his mistresses. Greer is also the decision-maker of the family, as Tag and her refuse to separate despite having many problems in their marriage. In the wake of the murder that has taken place on their family property, a lot of problems in the marriage emerge in the most unpleasant manner. The police have every reason to suspect her because she is judgmental of the person who is killed as per her conversations with others, as revealed during the interrogation.
Tag Winbury
Liev Schreiber is the weed smoking patriarch who is not as invested in his marriage as Greer is, even though he claims he loves her. He claims to be lonely without her, but over the years he is known to have had affairs that could have sabotaged what he and Greer have built over the years. Tag Winbury has been distracted since the murder on their property. The police suspect him as well, as they are made aware of the affair Tag had with the victim, giving him the motive to commit the crime. Tag is a typical rich man who is used to getting what he likes with his charm and does not worry about the consequences. The sons don’t think highly of him, as they see the real face of their father daily.
Amelia Sacks
Eve Hewson of Bad Sisters fame is Amelia Sacks in The Perfect Couple, the middle-class woman with good qualifications about to marry Benji, the middle son of Greer and Tag Winbury. Since his family is traditionalist, or claim to be, Amelia is not liked by Greer because of her nonchalant behavior. Amelia, however, loses someone close to her hours before the wedding and is devastated. Amelia is brought in for questioning and soon begins to see things for what they are and starts asking questions. She harbors secrets from the night before the murder, and is in a dilemma about whether she should come clean about what she knows about the person who was killed. Amelia is smart and asks questions, unlike Abby Winbury, her sister-in-law, who seems to be content with the rules set by Greer for everyone.
Benji Winbury
Billy Howle is Benji “Benjamin” Winbury, the middle child of Greer and Tag Winbury, set to get married to Amelia Sacks. He is madly in love with Amelia to the point he asks his mother to back off and not pick on her. He wanted his mother to make Amelia feel welcome and comfortable, but that was not a priority for her, which frustrated him. Benji, however, is known to have kept many family secrets ever since the murder; he comes clean to Amelia about them, including the tale of his father cheating on his mother several times over the years. Benji brings in his best friend Shooter Dival into the picture, the man he is closest to and who will be his best man for the wedding. However, Benji does not see that Amelia is not ready for marriage. Benji is the nicest person of all the people around him, as he cares for the woman he is about to marry, and he proves that from his well intended actions.
Thomas Winbury
Jack Reynor, as Thomas Winbury in The Perfect Couple is the personification of a brat who has not emotionally matured into a sensible man. He is the insecure older son of Greer and Tag Winbury who has issues with practically every member of the family, including his pregnant wife, Abby. Thomas is a serial cheater, indecent and currently sleeping with the friend of their parents, Isabel Nallet, as he has borrowed some money from her.
Thomas is constantly belittling his brothers in public, case in point, making uncomfortable jokes during the pre-wedding events. He is also the person who is most aware of the real state of their parents’ marriage, as he points it out several times. Thomas is not a nice person, and he could be a suspect because of his habit of flirting with women who are not his wife.
Abby Winbury
The famous Dakota Fanning is back in The Perfect Couple as the pregnant wife of Thomas Winbury, who is in complete denial about her crumbling marriage as her husband spends no time with her. Abby seems to have quickly adjusted to the lifestyle of Greer and Tag’s home and rules and does not question it anymore as she enjoys the privilege that comes from being married into Thomas’ family. Abby is unperturbed by the murder that happened on the property, as she is completely out of touch with reality around her. She is not a suspect because she is not directly related to the person who has been killed.
Isabel Nallet
Isabelle Adjani is Isabel Nallet, the close family friend to Tag and Greer Winbury. She is one of the guests at the wedding of Benji and Amelia. She also happens to be having an affair with Thomas Winbury, the oldest son of Greer and Tag Winbury. The young man owes Isabel some money and claims to be in love with her as well. Or maybe not, he is just waiting for his trust fund money to arrive so that he could pay back her debt and release himself from her shackles. Isabel comes across as a woman who has been around the world and enjoys being single. She is brought in for questioning as she was seen speaking to the victim hours before the murder.
Merritt Monaco
Meghann Fahy, as Merritt Monaco, is Amelia’s maid of honor and her closest friend since childhood. Both had been looking forward to spending time before Amelia’s wedding discussing the issue concerning the bride’s cold feet. Merritt, however, comes clean about her affair with Tag Winbury to Amelia and reveals she is pregnant with his child. This devastates Amelia, as she feels betrayed. Merritt also reveals the same to Tag, who is initially happy about the news. Many people who overhear the news are convinced that Tag will not leave his wife Greer, as this scenario has happened many times in the past and Merritt won’t be treated any differently.
Shooter Dival
Ishaan Khattar, the actor from the Hindi film industry, is Shooter Dival, Benji’s closest friend and best man at the wedding. Shooter is very close to his family, which has helped him get out of many murky situations. He also happens to be very good-looking, and Amelia is attracted to him. However, his past is shady, and the police are having a hard time getting information on his family and the connection he has to the Winbury family, especially with Greer.
Greer treats him like a son and is the first person to help him out when he is arrested in the murder case. Shooter also does not shy away from flirting with Amelia, which indicates he is a bit of a player. Shooter does come across suspicious, as it is believed he could be linked to some mafia back in his home city of Mumbai.
Officer Nikki Henry
Donna Lynne Champlin as Officer Nikki Henry is the detective in charge of the investigation into the murder that happened at the beach house belonging to Greer and Tag Winbury. She has a list of suspects, as many people were at the wedding, and anyone could have the motive to murder. The officer, unlike any other person, is not afraid of the power and influence Greer and Tag have over the town they live in and is determined to find out who could be the killer.
Dan Carter
Michael Beach, as officer Dan Carter, is the member of the local police who was informed first about the crime at the Greer and Tag’s beach house. Carter is also a father to a teenage girl who is responsible for catering for the wedding. She is friends with Will Wanbury, the youngest son of Greer and Tag. Dan is not comfortable with Will and his daughter’s friendship. Things go south very quickly as Will is one of the first people to be brought in for questioning, and Dan has many reasons to suspect him as the killer. Just like Officer Henry, Dan is not worried about going after any family member of the Winbury family.
