The Mystery of Moksha Island is a 2024 Telugu language mystery series that revolves around Dr. Viswak Sen, a renowned doctor and scientist known for his many innovations. His family life was not what you would call a successful one, and as we saw through the conflicts between everyone who had gathered on Viswak’s private island to get a share of his wealth after his death. The article below will describe everything that happens between the members of the family over the course of the week after his death.

The news of Dr. Viswak Sen’s death spread like wildfire across the country. He was a renowned doctor and scientist who was known to be living on an isolated island in the Indian Ocean. The island was his home and lab, where everyone claimed he conducted crazy experiments. In short, Dr. Viswak was a controversial figure both professionally and personally, and that was the reason why his family didn’t seem too excited after receiving his invite requesting them to reach the infamous “Moksha Island.” None of the family members had any good memories with the scientist, yet they were forced to head to Moksha Island. Of all the people, Vicky, the sharpshooter, was surprised to come across the invitation to the island. He was keen on meeting his sister, with whom he separated at a very young age.
Dr. Viswak had a large family; children from his several relationships and marriages showed up at the island but none of them was happy to be there. Ajay and Vijay, his children with his first wife, Meena. They also had a daughter named Shravani. Ajay’s daughter, Isha, and Vijay’s only son, Aakash, accompanied them as well. Shravani and her family were American citizens and had two daughters, Nikhila and Natasha. There was no clarity so far on how another family member named Jhansi was related to Dr. Viswak, but Vicky had his doubts as to whether she was his sister. The large family quickly moved into the villa at Moksha Island, where they were introduced to Maya, Dr. Viswak’s mistress, who oversaw all his holdings. She revealed that Dr. Viswak had a net worth of INR 24,000 crore and wanted to distribute it equally amongst all the family members who accepted his invitation. By the end of the week, the next CEO of VS Labs, the pharmaceutical company that had belonged to Dr. Viswak Sen, would be announced too. The catch was they had to stay on the island for a week. In the midst of it all, one of the cousins decided to leave the island, as they weren’t interested in Dr. Viswak’s wealth. The rest of them stayed with the intention of getting their hands on the money Dr. Viswak had left them.
Who was the first victim on the island?
The first person to disappear from the island was Jagdish, Jhansi’s brother. He was walking by the coast when a disfigured man kidnapped him. Soon after, Vicky arranged a search party to look for Jagdish, but they couldn’t find any trace of him, so they all assumed that Jagdish might have left the island. However, the real tragedy struck the family when Jhansi’s husband, Venkat, was found dead by the beach. Since it was an unnatural death, Jhansi insisted on keeping his body in cold storage as evidence. After she revealed herself to be a criminal lawyer, she got into an investigating mood in no time.
Why were the family members bickering?
The family members were quite shocked when they found out that Jhansi was a criminal lawyer. They didn’t want anyone to investigate the disappearance as they had their eyes on the money. With two family members gone, it only meant that they would get a larger share of the wealth. However, as Jhansi began her investigation, she found out that Vicky used to be a sharpshooter. She saw him carrying a gun, and when she confronted him about it, he revealed the truth about his profession. The family members were busy bickering with each other as none of them had good memories with Dr. Viswak. Vijay was an awful father to Aakash, as the son spent most of his time alone and sending emotional voice notes to someone. Isha’s mischief accidentally revealed that Aakash was gay, and his father ended up beating him black and blue because of his sexual orientation.
Where did Natasha disappear to?
Natasha was a YouTube vlogger who was having a hard time finding a mobile network on the island. She was the daughter of Shravani and granddaughter of Meena, Dr. Viswak’s first wife. Natasha in her search for a signal found a bunker and accidentally got stuck in it. She walked through the tunnel attached to the bunker and found her way to a secret lab. Natasha was young, and she panicked quickly as she couldn’t get herself out of the place. She came across cryogenically stored bodies of people she had met on the island, including Jagdish. Natasha was not sure how to get out of this mess she’d got herself into.
Who killed Vijay?
As the family was looking for Natasha in the woods, they came across the mutilated body of Vijay, Aakash’s abusive father. A flashback revealed it was Aakash who killed his father out of pure rage at his homophobia. The family felt there was an entity following them, which has resulted in three deaths and one disappearance already. Aakash was not the same person after his father’s death, as a result of which he became aloof and kept himself away from the family.
Why did some family members decide to leave?
Shravani started to panic after Natasha’s disappearance. This led to an argument between Shravani and her brothers Ajay and Vijay. Ajay disgruntledly revealed Shravani was born out of the affair their mother had with Dr. Viswak’s colleague Raghavan. Meena and Raghavan had outed Dr. Viswak’s twisted operations got him arrested, because of which he was sent to a mental asylum. Shravani, on learning the truth, broke down, and Meena committed suicide out of humiliation. Meena’s death brought the family together, and they decided to leave the island as Maya was unwilling to help them with anything. In a shocking turn of events, it was revealed that Dr. Viswak Sen was still alive. He was hiding in a secret chamber from where he’d been keeping a close watch on each and every family member and had even recorded them. There was no clarity about how he was alive and what he really wanted from the family and why did he bring them all to the island in the first place?
Shravani and Ajay’s family, on reaching the coast, found the dead body of one of the first cousins who left the island. The sight of the mutilated body emotionally devastated everyone, including Shravani’s husband, who committed suicide just out of sheer trauma. Isha was distressed and wanted to find a way to leave the island. There were several things happening at the time. As Isha was trying to find a way out, she got a bit friendly with her distant cousins Priyanka and Dinesh. Dinesh tried to molest her, and as a result, Isha accidentally killed him while fighting him off. Maya, the mistress, also found Nikhila and trapped her in the lab in order to do further tests on the young girl.
Who did Aakash kill?
Aakash was the only person who remained quiet after witnessing such a devastating series of events. After he was outed by Isha, he mostly kept to himself as he was subjected to ridicule by his family. His other distant cousin offered him the knife belonging to rowdy family member Munna. She offered him the task of taking out his anger on the family, who did not have the heart to accept him for who he was. A rage-filled Aakash killed Isha as he stated he was done taking orders from people. His cousin’s order reminded him of his father, who’d dictated his life, which triggered him to kill on the spot with the knife she handed to him.
Who tried to stop the family from leaving?
Jhansi stopped everyone from leaving the island and asked them to gather around the dinner table. She arrived with her entourage with Maya by her side and claimed she was Dr. Viswak Sen. Jhansi further described something called consciousness transfer, which meant all Viswak’s knowledge and understanding of his world was transferred to her mind and body. She revealed that Maya and the lab run by Viswak, conducted tests on the family that arrived on Island to find whose DNA matched the millionaire. This test was done without informing anyone; Jhansi’s results indicated a 100% match with Viswak. This could be because she might have been his daughter. Jhansi was indeed Vicky’s sister, but since the consciousness transfer, she had a different persona.
Is Jhansi dead or alive?
Everyone who was alive at that point tried to escape on the boat they found on the other side of the island. They wanted to flee the wrath of Jhansi, who was now known to be Dr. Viswak Sen. Jhansi had revealed practically everything about everyone at the dinner table based on the recordings Dr. Viswak had gathered around the island. It was revealed that Aakash had killed his cousin, Priyanka, and Dinesh had killed Jhansi’s husband, Venkat, and Isha had accidently murdered Dinesh while fighting him off. Even though these revelations were out in the open, the remaining family members went out of their way to help each other get off Moksha Island. The island had only brought bad news so far, and they chose to abandon the bodies stored in the cold storage. There was no clarity on what the end goal of the families who were leaving the island was.
In the lab, Vicky was shocked to find his sister behaving like their psychopath father, who had done many despicable actions. Vicky was a witness to his father choosing the rich businessman’s widowed daughter over them and their mother. Jhansi’s real personality was erased, and the old one would never come back because of the lengthy procedure of consciousness transfer. Vicky wanted his sister back, which was not possible because of what his selfish father had done. To end Viswak’s dream of being immortal, Vicky gravely injured a heavily pregnant Jhansi. Maya was distressed because she did not want Jhansi to die, as Dr. Viswak’s consciousness would perish as well. Maya, whose power also relied on Dr. Viswak’s presence convinced Vicky to give her first aid and move her to the hospital so that she and the child could be saved. Jhansi was gravely injured, but she was not dead, as Vicky was quick to realize; he needed his sister alive nonetheless.
Who became the CEO of VS Labs?
The Mystery of Moksha Island ended with the families attempting to leave the island, which included Shravani, her daughters; Ajay and his family; Aakash, Priyanka, Munna; Aditi, her daughter; and her brother. The family hoped to leave the dreaded place because they realized their lives were more important than the money that was on offer. Maya wanted them to stay back, as these people were witnesses to the workings of the lab and the house. She could not risk losing all this, after they exposed Dr. Viswak Sen as a criminal. Maya was a smart woman who had been seducing Vicky from the start to get him to agree to her terms. As the families were leaving, Vicky, an experienced shooter, shot every family member on the boat, and all of them died on the spot, including Aditi’s young daughter.
A flashback revealed that Maya had convinced Vicky to do the consciousness transfer between Jhansi and Vicky to retain Dr. Viswak’s knowledge. We wish the makers had expanded on how Vicky was convinced, as he was not a fan of his father’s actions growing up. Transferring all the knowledge to Vicky would make him the new Dr. Viswak Sen. Vicky may have been lured into this for the money, the island, and the fame would make him a powerful person. Vicky turning into Dr. Viswak Sen required peak suspension of disbelief because, in real life, there happens to be no scientific evidence to support the existence of this procedure. Vicky, who had turned into his father, wanted the secret of the island to remain hidden.
The Mystery of Moksha Island ended with Vicky being appointed as the next CEO of VS Labs, which had belonged to his father. Vicky was consciously Dr. Viswak with Maya by his side. To the world, it was his son who took over the reins of his father’s empire. This action would make Dr. Viswak immortal, and he could expand on his deviant experimentation, which people outside of the island were not aware of. The last shot had Jhansi with her newborn child. Either Jhansi was conscious and fully aware of what happened to her, or she could have been lobotomized so that she remained like a vegetable the rest of her life, never questioning Vicky’s intentions ever again, or maybe she could come back to the senses, and become a threat to Vicky’s succession which we would most likely come across in the next season, if there would be any.
