Why did the Green Glove Gang decide to heist for the last time?
As Season Two begins, we see that the Green Glove Gang has created quite a stir in the local community. Everyone has become a big fan of them. Why wouldn’t they be? After all, the gang always thought of others, not themselves. They were like modern-day female Robin Hoods who stole from the rich to help the helpless or punish those who extorted people. They never did anything for personal gain—at least, that was the case so far. Yes, the police had failed to capture them, but that didn’t matter much anymore. The gang had decided to split and go their separate ways. Zuzanna planned to go to Panama, Alicja to Mumbai, and Kinga to Rome. That was the plan until Zuza got a phone call from the hospital. Her son, Tomek, had been admitted. Why? Because a powerful gangster named Masarz, whom Tomek was heavily in debt to, now wanted his money back. Tomek couldn’t pay, and his life was at risk. Masarz used the situation to his advantage and demanded that the gang—the three ladies—steal the Venus of Kazakhstan from the national gallery for him. If they managed to pull off the heist, he would let Tomek go and clear his debt. Even though the gang wanted to leave their troublesome lives behind, it wasn’t that easy. And for them, above everything else, friendship mattered the most. For the sake of their friend Zuza, Alicja and Kinga were ready to go on one last heist. Honestly, they weren’t all that sad about it. It gave them a kind of thrill, you know!
Why did the gang decide to blow up the tunnel under the museum?
The National Gallery had all sorts of security measures, and stealing the priceless Venus from there was never going to be an easy task—they knew that. So, the gang looked for an alternate way in and found an old sewer. There was a tunnel that connected to the museum basement, but a wall had to be broken to access it. They planned to enter the museum through this tunnel at night to steal the gold Venus and complete their mission. However, the wall itself was really thick, so they realized they needed to detonate it silently. But how silent could they really be? They decided to open a senior club there to avoid drawing attention to the detonation sound. The music in the club would camouflage the noise of the detonation. However, being discreet didn’t quite go as planned. A young group stumbled into the senior club and made the place go viral. Thanks to them, the club became a sensation and attracted people from all over town for various workshops and events. It created quite a buzz in the community. This unexpected popularity turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The people from Second Home, who joined the Green Glove Gang’s heist mission, along with Masarz’s men, managed to detonate the sewer wall and create a tunnel to steal the Venus. In the end, the plan came together with the help of the community, and they were ready to pull off their heist.
Why did Marzena, Alfred, and Gujska join forces?
Meanwhile, Alfred and Gujska were growing tired of their failed attempts to capture the gang. Their chief of police was of no help either, as he was secretly in cahoots with the gang leader, Masarz. He subtly sabotaged their mission to capture the gang because he knew Masarz was up to something. Nevertheless, Alfred and Gujska were not ready to give up just yet. They knew that Marzena was desperate to get out of prison, so they made a pact with her. Marzena had to help them pinpoint the gang’s activities and whereabouts, and in return, she would be released from prison. Marzena had already started to figure out what the gang was up to. By keeping an eye on the news about the National Gallery, especially the Venus exhibit, and talking to Igor, she got an idea of what the gang’s next heist would be. Igor was actually the one who had tasked Masarz with obtaining the Venus, so he leaked that news to Marzena. With this information, Marzena promised Alfred and Gujska that she would expose the gang. After being released from prison, she decided to take a security job at the National Gallery. She was finally ready to take her revenge.
How did Alicja’s truth serum help reveal the truth?
Even though their mission was just to complete this heist, helping those in need had become a force of habit for the three women. This time, however, Alicja was hesitant. With her psychic abilities, she had a vision that there was a chance they might end up in jail, so she didn’t want to take any risks. But Zuzanna and Kinga, despite knowing the risks, were determined to help others. They broke the pact they had made, which was that all decisions regarding the heist would be made together. Zuzanna and Kinga went to rescue dogs from a shelter where the owner had been torturing the poor animals. They also helped some elderly people who were caught up in a pyramid scheme and were being financially and emotionally exploited with false promises of a better future. But eventually, Alicja found out about the dog rescue mission from the newspaper and felt betrayed. On top of that, when she went out on a date with Masarz (yes, that happened! ), she put a truth serum in his drink and finds out all the secrets. Actually, Seeing them on a date was odd for both Kinga and Zuzanna, and when they followed Alicja, they also ended up drinking the truth serum-infused drink. The serum made Zuzanna spill her true feelings about her son, Tomek. She confessed that she saw him as a failure who ended up in jail like his father, and now she had to baby him. Unfortunately, Tomek overheard this and decided to go against his mother. He met with Marzena and, in exchange for money, revealed the gang’s plan to steal the Venus from the gallery through the tunnel. Alicja also discovered another truth: Masarz, the gang leader, was afraid of death. That’s why he wanted the base of the Venus sculpture, which was believed to have healing powers. Igor, on the other hand, wanted the top part to be sold to a client for a huge sum of money.
Did the gang end up in jail?
Yes, Alicja’s vision turned out to be true. The gang did end up in jail. Before they could steal the Venus, a 13th-century gold medieval cup was stolen from the gallery. Surprisingly, it wasn’t the gang who did it, but Maria, an old member of Second Home and an informant for Igor. She always told Igor the gang’s whereabouts, not to outrage them but because she thought Igor wanted to get back with Kinga. Anyway, with the cup stolen, the gang and even Masarz decided to abort their mission due to the high risk. But Igor was not one to back off. Even though they closed the tunnel, when Igor found out that Maria had discovered another way into the museum, he decided to use her to help the gang steal the Venus. But they weren’t the only ones who knew about this new pathway. Remember Marzena? She knew about this route too, and she had installed cameras along the way. So, when the gang came at night to steal the sculpture, Marzena captured their activities on camera and sent the footage to the police officers. Alfred and Gujska arrived in time and captured Masarz, the three notorious ladies of the rebellious Green Glove Gang, and even their chief of police as well.
But they didn’t have to spend much time in jail because stealing the Venus was all an act. They never stole the real one and even returned the medieval cup after taking it from Maria. With the help of Krystyna, they made a replica of the Venus and gave it to Igor. When Igor tried to sell it to his client, he discovered it was fake. What happened to him after that is unknown—perhaps he was captured, or maybe his clients killed him for fooling them. Ultimately, his greed became his greatest enemy. On the other hand, we see that Alfred and Gujska couldn’t point fingers at the gang because, as I mentioned earlier, the gang had gained many followers along the way. Even those they stole from gave testimony on the gang’s behalf and pointed out that the real villains were those extorting people, while the three ladies of the gang had the purest intentions of all—helping others. In the end, both the police and the gang made a pact: the gang would work with the police to capture the real evildoers, like Marzena. The lady who was so desperate to get out of prison ended up back there, where she truly belonged. At the end of the series, we see that the members of Second Home have decided to create an eco-friendly housing community called “Green Home—Senior Co-Housing” after the gang. Their journey has become an example for many, from seniors to youngsters. The series concluded with a very satisfying happy ending, and it doesn’t seem like there will be another season. We wish the Green Glove Gang members all the best as they enjoy their senior years together in peace, now that their days of heists are finally behind them.
