Manu Boyer’s drama thriller Sister Wife Murder is about a girl named Chloe who starts to visit her local church quite often after being infatuated with a young pastor named Caleb. At first, Chloe thinks Caleb is really passionate about the work, and the way Caleb speaks makes her feel special—especially since he seems to only have eyes for her. As he began to get closer to her, she discovered that she wasn’t the only one with a special relationship with the pastor. In fact, he had two other wives, Margo and Anna, who were sister wives. This forces Chloe to question everything she once believed about Caleb. Now, Chloe must decide what to do. Will her love for Caleb make her marry him even though she knows that he is a womanizer? Or will she stand against him and refuse to be part of his life? Set in a small town, this story makes you think about how some people who claim to be followers of God can use religion to justify their wrongdoings by saying everything is “God’s will!” It honestly makes you question blind religious beliefs.

Did Chloe marry Caleb?
Sister Wife Murder begins with Chloe, a young girl who’s been struggling ever since her father passed away from cancer a year ago. And what did Chloe do to cope with the loss? Chloe turned to alcohol and drugs to numb her feelings. But we all know the result already, they only made things worse. Her professional career was in ruins too as Chloe couldn’t keep a job for more than a few months. Chloe’s mother got really worried and wanted to do anything she could to help.
That’s when her mom suggested going to church. Chloe wasn’t exactly excited about the idea—she wasn’t into the whole church thing—but her mom wouldn’t let it go. Chloe finally thought, What if this could actually help? Maybe it’s time to try something different. Surprisingly, Chloe didn’t regret it. When she first heard the young pastor, Caleb, speak about the purpose of life, something just clicked. Caleb wasn’t the old-fashioned, strict pastor she’d imagined. He had this way of connecting with young people, and yes, his youthful vibe and good looks were definitely a plus. Soon enough, Chloe found herself going to church regularly. And wouldn’t you know it? Caleb noticed her almost right away. As they spent more time together, Chloe could feel her life beginning to change. She even chose to go on a church retreat instead of hanging out at her friend Alexi’s party. That was a big step for her.
Chloe was enjoying her time at church, especially with Caleb. But soon, Chloe discovered a shocking truth: Anna, another woman who attended the same church, was actually Caleb’s wife. This didn’t stop Chloe from continuing her relationship with Caleb. She wondered if Anna might be upset, only to find out that Anna wasn’t his only wife—there was also Margo, a pregnant woman who was married to Caleb too. Caleb was a believer in polygamy. Basically he called it God’s will and justified his actions by speaking about religious figures who’d had multiple wives. It was clear how Caleb had brainwashed everyone around him, and his wives had accepted that Caleb was their devoted husband who would protect them. They basically never questioned his motives. They didn’t realize that he was manipulating them by using their faith to control them. Chloe saw these things and questioned them too. But being in love with Caleb and wanting to be with him, she began to rationalize it. If Margo and Anna didn’t have any problem with it, why should she? Chloe started thinking that maybe, just maybe, this was genuinely God’s will. Without giving it much more thought, Chloe lied to her mother and told her that she had been offered a great opportunity to work at the church under Caleb’s guidance. She then left her home and married Caleb, with Margo, Anna, and Margo’s little daughter present at the ceremony. Chloe convinced herself that this was the best decision she could make.
What happened to Margo?
Just as married life began, all of Chloe’s illusions of love and faith shattered. She quickly realized what a fraud Caleb truly was. He told her that she must hide their relationship, and even in their own home, she wasn’t allowed to be around him all the time. He insisted that she dress modestly and mostly listen to Anna, his first wife, who knew all the house rules. It became clear that Chloe had no sense of individuality, and if she didn’t do exactly as Caleb said, she would be in serious trouble. It wasn’t just Chloe who was suffering—Margo and her little daughter were also in danger. Even after Margo’s child was born, Caleb wouldn’t allow her to visit her own mother, and kept the grandmother from meeting her granddaughter. In their home, they had to follow whatever Caleb wanted, and Margo had no choice but to obey. Chloe thought this was insane and tried to talk to Caleb about it. But Caleb didn’t take it well. He was furious at the idea of them being exposed to the world. When Chloe stood up against this nonsense, Caleb abused her and even beat her to make her stay quiet. It was too much for Chloe to handle. She talked about it to her friends, which led to the pastor of the church where Caleb worked to ostracize him, and their relationship finally got exposed. This was something Caleb had worked so hard to keep secret. Margo knew that Caleb might be furious and that they were in danger, so she was desperate to save herself and her child. That’s why they decided to flee their home. But Caleb caught her red-handed. The next day, he took her to an abandoned house and killed her for going against him. He didn’t even regret it. To him, it felt like the punishment she deserved.
What happened to Caleb?
Chloe did everything she could to connect with Margo, but nothing seemed to work. No matter how hard Chloe tried, she just couldn’t get through to Margo. Chloe took care of Margo’s child, but deep down, she couldn’t shake the feeling that something bad had happened to her sister wife. One day, Chloe decided to video call Margo to let her daughter see her mother. But when she called, she heard Margo’s phone ringing inside the house. That’s when Chloe realized something awful must have happened. Chloe decided to talk to Anna about her concerns, but she had no idea that Anna was part of the plan to make Margo disappear. Anna lied to Chloe by saying she knew where Margo was and offered to take her there. She led Chloe to the same abandoned house where Caleb was already present.
Caleb tried to convince Chloe that Margo had relapsed into drug addiction and was in therapy, but Chloe wasn’t buying it. Then, she spotted a bracelet on the ground—the very same one she had given to Margo. That’s when she saw that the ground outside had been freshly dug up and covered what she feared was Margo’s dead body. Realizing the horrifying truth, Chloe confronted Caleb. True to his cruel nature, Caleb tried to silence her, even willing to kill her to keep his secret. But guess who saved the day? Anna. I know it is shocking but it looked like she finally had enough. She couldn’t save Margo, but she wasn’t going to let Chloe suffer the same fate. Anna struck Caleb in the back of the head and stopped him. Soon after, the police arrived and arrested Caleb. Both Anna and Chloe were finally saved.
As promised, in Sister Wife Murder’s ending, Chloe took Margo’s daughter to her grandmother, just as she had vowed she’d do to Margo in case something ever happened to her. Margo had known her life was doomed, and Chloe was determined to honor her wish. Thankfully, Chloe didn’t end up like Margo. She didn’t allow the injustice to be dismissed as “God’s will.” Instead, she was brave enough to fight against everything and refused to let anyone abuse or brainwash her. After everything she went through, Chloe returned to her mother’s home. We hope that this experience made her stronger and that she was able to move forward from this.
