We’ve all seen how the legal system sometimes fails and lets criminals go unpunished. The phrase “innocent until proven guilty” can feel frustrating when justice isn’t served, and this idea is at the heart of the new Netflix movie Sheriff: Narko Integriti, directed by Syafiq Yusof. The story revolves around Tony Ifrit, a notorious drug dealer known for his meth empire. Despite his crimes, Tony has managed to dodge justice time and time again. Many police officers and others who’ve tried to bring him down end up dead or in jail, while Tony walks free. But there’s one cop, Inspector Nazri, who’s had enough. Frustrated by the system’s failure to bring Tony down, Nazri decides to take matters into his own hands. He starts secretly targeting and killing those who work for Tony, one by one. Of course, being a police officer himself, these killings aren’t easy, especially since he’s going to great lengths—stabbing, shooting, and even scattering meth on the bodies—to put on a show and make it look like someone else is behind the murders. Naturally, this catches the attention of the precinct. Everyone’s trying to figure out who this so-called “meth killer” is. This is where Sheriffuddin Hussein, or Sheriff, steps in. Known for his sharp instincts, Sheriff starts interrogating people within the department, as he is convinced that the killer is one of their own. The big question is: Will Sheriff uncover the truth? And more importantly, will Nazri finally bring Tony to justice?

Why did Sheriff suspect Nazri?
At the start of the movie, we see Nazri on a mission to kill Officer Malik, who he discovered was working with Tony. Nazri was furious and heartbroken to find out that someone he respected so much had betrayed the police force. To him, Malik had brought shame to the uniform. Even though Malik pleaded with Nazri and tried to explain his situation, it was too late. Nazri had already made up his mind. He had been killing people connected to Tony for a while now, and Malik was next on his list. Nazri made a gruesome display of Malik’s bloodied body, scattering meth on it to send a message. Afterward, he meticulously cleaned the scene by removing any DNA or evidence to make sure the police wouldn’t trace it back to him. He then left Malik’s body on the road to frustrate Tony by showing him that his men were being picked off one by one. But how did someone get such inside information about a police officer being involved with Tony?
Sheriffuddin Hussein, or Sheriff, had a strong suspicion that someone within the precinct was feeding the killer this information. Sheriff was famous for catching corrupt officers and had a sharp eye for spotting trouble. His instincts told him that it was time to interrogate everyone in the precinct before they moved in on Tony’s operation. Sheriff had his eye on one person in particular: Officer Nazri. With all his experience, Sheriff saw a clear motive for Nazri being the “meth killer.” The problem started when Inspector Wani, who was working undercover to bust Tony, had her cover blown. Someone in the precinct, acting as Tony’s informant, had leaked this information, which led to Wani being assaulted and killed by Tony. Wani was Nazri’s girlfriend, and Sheriff suspected that Nazri was out for revenge to take down everyone involved in Tony’s network. Despite intense questioning, Nazri remained silent, refusing to say anything. Sheriff even went to the extreme of showing him the video of Wani being assaulted in the hope of provoking a confession. But Nazri didn’t crack. He kept his silence by holding his pain and anger deep inside.
Why did Nazri take Inspector Jannifer’s help?
Jennifer Wong and Syazlin were working closely with Sheriff on this operation. Just as they were about to break Nazri down during the interrogation, they got the news that another killing had occurred, following the same pattern as the “meth killer.” This happened while Sheriff was still questioning Nazri, which threw them all off. It turned out that the killing was done by Firdaus, the man who was Nazri’s informant inside Tony’s territory. Firdaus was accused of the murder, and the DNA under the victim’s nails matched his profile. When Nazri started interviewing Firdaus, he knew that Firdaus wasn’t the real meth killer. Nazri had been the one behind the murders, but he told Firdaus to stay quiet to keep his own secret safe. Firdaus, desperate and scared, tried to get Nazri’s help. But when Firdaus was accused, he panicked and lost his mind. To silence him, Officer Farouk killed Firdaus from behind. Firdaus died right in front of Nazri, even though he wasn’t the real meth killer. He just wanted to protect Nazri, but Nazri could not do the same for him. Nazri hadn’t wanted this to happen.
To make things worse, Nazri later found out that the police officer he had previously killed, Officer Malik, was actually working undercover to gather information on Tony’s operation. Malik had been pretending to be Tony’s informant but was, in fact, trying to bring Tony down. Nazri realized he had killed an innocent man who was trying to do good. As things spiraled out of control, Nazri became increasingly restless. He realized that in his quest for revenge, innocent people had died because of him, and this bothered him deeply. He was losing his grip on reality, especially as he was neglecting to take his medication. Officer Jennifer confronted Nazri during this time and offered to help him. She claimed to be one of Tony’s rats, but was actually working undercover, just like Nazri. She urged him to trust her by saying that she knew all about his activities as the meth killer and about his meetings with his informant Firdaus. Jennifer promised to keep both their secrets safe so they could finally catch Tony red-handed. But it was all a lie. Jennifer was actually a corrupt officer who had become Tony’s informant to protect her son from Tony’s clutches. She wasn’t involved in any undercover work; she was just looking out for herself and her family. To cover her tracks and keep Nazri in the dark, she arranged for Tony’s men to kidnap Nazri and made it look like both she and Nazri had been captured while trying to bust Tony.
What happened to Tony?
When Sheriff and Syazlin got the news that Jennifer and Nazri had been kidnapped, they knew they had to act fast. They gathered their full force and headed straight to Tony’s territory, determined to finally bring him down. But in the end, it all came down to a face-off between Nazri and Tony. Nazri, fueled by rage and the hunger for revenge, pulled out a gun and killed Tony for what he had done to his girlfriend. He had been waiting for this moment, and he wasn’t going to let it slip away. But just as Nazri thought it was over, Jennifer turned on him. She tried to kill Nazri, but before she could do anything, Syazlin stepped in. Syazlin realized that Nazri was the meth killer, responsible for the deaths of so many innocent people. Even though Nazri was her brother, she couldn’t ignore the truth. Justice had to be served. During the confrontation, Jennifer claimed that Nazri was mentally ill and had not been taking his medication to try to paint him as unstable. But Nazri countered and revealed that Jennifer had double-crossed them all and was actually Tony’s informant. Syazlin couldn’t let the meth killer go free, so she made the heartbreaking decision to shoot her own brother. But just when she was about to turn her gun on Jennifer for her betrayal, Officer Farouk appeared out of nowhere and shot Syazlin to death. It turned out that Farouk was Tony’s second informant. He thought this was a chance for both of Tony’s rats to finally join forces. But in a cruel twist, Jennifer shot Farouk dead, even though he had just saved her.
What happened to Jennifer?
Jennifer proved to be the ultimate survivor and made it look like she’d single-handedly made this operation a success, even if it was at the cost of everyone around her. Everyone was congratulating Jennifer for doing a great job, but no one knew just how corrupt she really was. Well, no one except Sheriff. He’d had his doubts from the start, and wasn’t about to let her off the hook. Fortunately, Syazlin survived the shooting and was admitted to the hospital. Jennifer knew that Syazlin was the only living witness who could expose her, and decided she needed to silence her once and for all. She snuck into the hospital and tried to mix meth into Syazlin’s drink. But just as she was about to do so, Sheriff showed up. Sheriff started questioning her, casually at first. He brought up a strange detail—one of her son’s school papers had been found at one of Tony’s old hideouts. Although the sheet was torn, and the name wasn’t visible, Sheriff knew her son attended that school. Maybe Tony was covering the tuition fees?
Jennifer tried to brush off the accusation, but she didn’t realize she was walking right into Sheriff’s trap. He then asked her about the meth pipe Tony used. He claimed he knew she must have seen it during the kidnapping, so he asked her what color it was. Confidently, Jennifer gave the correct answer. But that’s where she slipped up. Sheriff had actually taken that pipe from Tony’s house long before the kidnappings and murders happened. This proved that Jennifer had had a connection with Tony well before all these events, which exposed her as the corrupt officer she was. Realizing she was caught, Jennifer knew there was no way out. Just as Sheriff was about to arrest her, she pulled out a gun and shot herself. In her final moments, she told Sheriff to take care of her son and warned him not to trust anyone. She admitted that even if she survived, Tony’s men would come after her, so there was no point in trying to escape. Before anyone could stop her, Jennifer took her own life right in front of everyone.
In Sheriff: Narko Integriti’s ending, Tony’s entire operation was finally busted. Many of the people who worked for him were arrested, and, most importantly, the children he had abducted and turned into meth addicts and dealers were rescued. It was a hard-fought victory, and in a way, it was Nazri’s quest for justice that made it all possible. Syazlin knew that her brother’s methods were extreme and out of line, but couldn’t deny that he was a great officer who genuinely wanted to do the right thing. He had flaws, but his heart was in the right place. On the other hand, Sheriff saw the true potential in Syazlin. After everything that happened, he started working with her to root out corruption in the force. They knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but together, they were determined to make a difference. In the final scenes, we see Sheriff and Syazlin heading to the federal court to question a lawyer named Syed Abdul Rehman. We don’t know much about him, but there’s a chance that he might be Tony’s lawyer—the one who kept helping Tony slip away from justice time and time again. These lawyers are often the reason why the guilty manage to avoid the punishment they deserve. The movie ends with a sense of hope. We can only expect that they’ll be able to set things right this time and make sure that the guilty finally get what they deserve.
