Directed by Dani Girdwood and Charlotte Fassler, Prime Video’s romantic thriller film, My Fault: London is the remake of the Spanish drama, Culpa Mía, which is based on the novel series. The idea of the romantic drama germinated as a Wattpad story. With complicated characters populating the tight plot, My Fault: London is expected to grab enough attention over 2025 Valentine’s week.
Asha Banks as Noah
Young, impulsive, and unpredictable—these three words accurately capture Noah’s energy in My Fault: London. Noah’s character is brought to life by the 21-year-old English actress, Asha Alice Banks. After a successful tryst with the English stage since her early childhood, Asha’s foray into films occurred with the German musical film The Magic Flute, directed by Florian Sigl. Banks is also a known face on television among the English audience, with her brief appearances in EastEnders and Call the Midwife. After a long absence from television, recently she appeared in the 2022 teen thriller series Rebel Cheer Squad. Asha has also starred in the popular BBC screen-adaption of crime thriller novel, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder. As Noah, Asha displays immense grit, with a hint of enigma. Noah’s initial hesitancy towards accepting Nick and her later change of course is what partially drives the narrative. Asha’s power as an actress lies in making Noah come across as unsorted as any teen might be prone to at this age. Starring opposite Matthew Broome, Banks makes a dazzling splash with My Fault: London, and her presence itself draws the audience in.
Matthew Broome as Nick
Matthew Broome has gained recognition among the English audience for his role in the historical drama series, The Buccaneers. Like Asha, Matthew too has his roots in the theater scene. The character of Nick in the film is seemingly dangerous, mercurial, yet passionate. As Asha tries to settle into the Lester household, Nick displays hot and cold behavior. Tensions quickly rise as the two start off on a bad note, come close, drift apart, and then come close. Although Nick is dangerously brash, his character is allowed moments of gentleness. He is devoted to his sister, Maggie. As the film progresses, we realize that like Noah, Nick too has childhood trauma in the form of his mother’s alcoholism. His affinity for violence stems from this deep-rooted emotional wound.
Harry Gilby as Dan
As Noah’s ex-boyfriend, Dan is every bit possessive and manipulative. When Dan finds out about Noah’s illicit relationship with Nick, he does not take it too well and spews poison. While he seems adamant that his cheating be considered a mistake, he shows up unannounced at the Lester residence after sensing that Noah might have started a new relationship. The toxic Dan is played by English actor Harry Gilby. Starring alongside Nicholas Hoult, Gilby appeared in the film Tolkien, portraying the master writer’s childhood. With the 2017 film Just Charlie, Gilby made his first film appearance. For the same film, he was nominated for “Best Newcomer” at the National Film Awards UK.
Eve Macklin as Ella
I spotted Eve for the first time in Saoirse Ronan starrer drama film, Brooklyn, that came out in 2015. She plays the role of Ella, Noah’s mother, in the Prime Video remake of their Spanish film. When Ella marries and settles into the house of her new husband, Noah is forced to move too. Ella is the reason why Noah meets Nick. By the end, Ella starts to doubt the nature of the relationship Nick and Noah share.
Ray Fearon as William
Ray Fearon gave his voice to the character of centaur Firenze in the Harry Potter franchise films and the Fantastic Beasts series. More recently, he has starred in the supremely popular, Fleabag, as the Hot Misogynist. Fearon has an upcoming role in a British action thriller, Cleaner. William Lester, a supremely rich businessman, opens his heart and his house to Ella. William has a son named Nick and lives in the spacious mansion with only his son for company.
Jason Flemyng as Travis
Jason’s most successful venture as an actor is perhaps his role as Tom in the cult Guy Ritchie Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. He has also appeared in popular contemporary Hollywood films such as The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, From Hell, and Transporter 2. Jason’s filmography, with roles in both films and television series, is ever-expanding, a testament to his acting range. In My Fault: London, Jason plays the role of Travis, Noah’s father. The abuse Noah faced at the hands of Travis continues to affect her severely in her young adulthood. She is regularly haunted by that one traumatic memory of Travis trying to barge through a door in order to get to her. Travis reappears in Noah’s life just when things start to look up for her mother and her.
The other members of the cast of My Fault: London include Enva Lewis as Jenna. Enva’s debut feature, How to Have Sex, was a hit at all the international festivals of 2024. English actor Amelia Kenworthy plays the role of Anna, Nick’s overly possessive girlfriend. Amelia is known for her roles in The Rings of Power and Messenger. Kerim Hassan plays the role of Lion.
