Spoilers Ahead
What Is The Status of Sawako and Kazehaya’s relationship?
Sawako and Kazehaya have really become the school’s cutest couple. They’re always together and their affection for each other is just heart-melting. Remember those Valentine’s Day chocolates Sawako made for Kazehaya? Sawako finally got to give them to him in the third season, along with a cozy woolen cap she knitted herself. Seeing Kazehaya’s face light up made it all worth it for her. They even took a big step by meeting each other’s parents. Where Sawako’s parents were super loving and protective, Kazehaya’s father seemed very intimidating. But with their sincerity and conviction, both families eventually understood how serious Sawako and Kazehaya were about each other, and they gave their approval. Sawako’s father, who was a typical girl’s dad, was initially worried about trusting his precious daughter with someone but grew to like Kazehaya and even thanked him for making his daughter smile (something you rarely see, especially in Indian families!).
Everything seemed perfect, but trouble started during the school trip. Sawako and Kazehaya finally had a chance to kiss, but their friends interrupted them. After that, Kazehaya became unusually cautious and distant, as if he were struggling with some inner guilt and shame. This made Sawako think that maybe he didn’t like her anymore, and that’s why he was pulling away. Even when she tried to talk to him, he didn’t say much, which only confused her more. Sawako started to doubt whether Kazehaya really wanted to be with her. This feeling of uncertainty grew stronger, and she began to think he was lying about his feelings all along. At the Christmas party, feeling frustrated and hurt, she confronted Kazehaya. She told him how she had expected too much from him and how she felt he didn’t love her anymore. In the middle of her emotional rant, without much hesitation, Kazehaya kissed her. Sawako kissed him back, and it was like a dream come true for her. Eventually, Sawako and Kazehaya shared all the feelings they had kept inside. They talked about their selfishness, stupid jealousy, and their desire to be together. They cleared up all the misunderstandings and openly confessed their love for each other. It was heartwarming to see them finally believe in each other’s feelings.
How did Yano and Kento get into a relationship?
As you might remember, Kento, who had a massive crush on Sawako in the earlier seasons, has moved on from her this season. He’s made peace with Sawako and Kazehaya relationship and even became something like their relationship advisor. It seemed like Kento didn’t need much time to move on because he had his own fan club of “Kento girls,” who admired him for his kindness and the way he always supported them when their boyfriends were rude. They spoke proudly about how he knew just how to treat a woman. Yano watched all of this and felt left out.
Guess what? Yano was worried that while everyone around her was in relationships, she might end up alone. She first opened up to Kento about how she always felt unworthy and unloved, and how she doubted she’d ever have something like Sawako and Kazehaya’s true love. And Kento? To him, Yano was amazing, and it broke his heart to see her feel this way. So, on the school trip, Kento found out Yano had been dating Mogi, who was just looking for something casual and didn’t really care about her feelings. When Yano found out about this she broke up with him and ended up crying in Kento’s arms. And you know what? Kento was there for her. He gave her a tight hug and showed how much he cared for her. Yano also told Kento about an ex who had slapped her when she tried to end things with him. That news hit Kento hard. At the Christmas party, he was so angry at Mogi’s treatment of Yano that he punched him. It was clear Kento was head over heels in love with Yano and wanted to protect her at all costs. When Yano found out about this, she hugged him. Kento poured his heart out and promised to treat her right and make her feel special. At first, Yano was unsure, but she soon realized he understood her better than anyone else and truly cared for her. By the end of the season, Yano decided to become Kento’s girlfriend. So happy to see Yano find someone who really appreciates her!
What happened between Chizuru and Ryu?
The only relationship issue that still leaves us hanging is between Chizuru and Ryu. Remember at the end of last season when Ryu told Chizuru that he loved her? Well, it seemed like Chizuru still saw him more like a sibling than a romantic partner. After all, Chizuru and Ryu have known each other since childhood and have always treated each other like family. After Ryu’s mother passed away, Chizuru stepped up to care for him by becoming a constant friend and supporter. She even promised to be his sibling figure when Ryu’s older brother Toru went off to university. So, it feels awkward for Chizuru when Ryu, who has rejected other girls during the school trip just to be with her, starts showing romantic feelings. She’s never seen him in that way—only as a close friend and sibling. However, it’s clear from the Christmas party, where Ryu gifted Chizuru a preserved rose, that he’s deeply in love with her. The rose is a symbol of his feelings; it’s preserved with care and affection, and it shows how much he cherishes her. Despite this, Chizuru’s feelings were still confusing. The flower might symbolize how he sees her as something precious and untouched, but it also makes her feel uncertain. She turned red seeing this present, but it’s not clear if she wanted to be with Ryu romantically or not.
We’ll have to wait for the next season to find out what happens between Ryu and Chizuru. Will they overcome their misunderstandings and finally accept and love each other for who they are, rather than trying to change each other as they grow older? Or will their lives become even more complicated? We all know that things are bound to get even more intense. How they go through these challenges will be fascinating to watch as the story continues.
