Hallmark films are all about finding the inherent goodness in people. Haunted Wedding, as the title suggests, is not a horror movie. It does have ghosts and supernatural elements in it, but the movie is a tale of two couples deeply in love coming together to tie the knot.

Where did Jane want to get married?
Jane and Brian were ghost hunters and spent their lives looking for supernatural elements and phenomena in haunted and spooky homes and spots. During one such expedition, Brian proposed to her, and she wholeheartedly accepted. The venue of the wedding was one of the most haunted inns they had come across. They chose this place in memory of their shared interest. Her best friend Rachel was scared, but she was excited for Jane.
What did she learn about Angelique?
Marion, the lady who ran the Keystone Inn, lets Jane know about the phenomena that keep affecting the people who visit the place. She informed Jane about Anglique DeMonray, the daughter of the British officer who died of heartbreak. A few years ago, an incident occurred in Angelique’s room and ever since, it has been closed for guests. Jane, being herself, wanted to find out the real story behind Angelique’s death and dared to enter the sealed room. Jane was surprised to find a painting of a revolutionary war soldier on the wall in that room who looked eerily like her fiancé Brian, and she could not wait to share the detail with him.Â
Who could see Angelique’s ghost?
Brian had reached the inn with his best friend/best man Steve, who had a crush on Jane’s best friend Rachel. Jane wasted no time showing him the painting of the soldier, and both were curious to find out more about the ghost. They got out their electromagnetic devices to detect the presence of an entity, and in no time at all, Angelique’s ghost appeared. Only Jane and Brian could see Angelique, and the ghost was somehow happy to see Brian. Jane had to let her know about her and Brian’s upcoming wedding at the inn. Angelique was angry, and she was adamant about not letting it happen, as she could not marry the man she loved, Malcolm Buchanan, from the Revolutionary Army. Initially, they did not take Angelique’s threat seriously, but she began to disrupt many things related to the upcoming wedding in the inn.
Where was Malcolm’s ghost stuck?
Angelique was adamant about finding out what happened to Malcolm. Only Jane and Brian could see her, and they were finding it hard to locate where Malcolm was buried. Marion asked them to contact the local historical society to find out details about the ghost’s deceased lover. The historical society let the couple know that Malcolm was ambushed by the British and imprisoned. Malcolm sadly died in prison of his injuries days before he was due to be executed. The prison now had been turned into an Irish pub. On visiting the said Irish pub, Brian and Jane ran into Malcolm’s ghost. He was the spitting image of Brian, and both wondered if they were related.Â
What were the ways Jane and Brian helped Malcolm?
Since Malcolm died in that place, his ghost could not be moved to another place. Angelique was facing the same issue as she had died in the inn that was owned by her father. Jane and Brian learned that Angelique and Malcolm had met in a hospital. Angelique was the daughter of the rich British businessman who owned the inn, but she worked as a nurse in the hospital where Brian was a patient. On being discharged from the hospital, he was hired to work at the inn by Angelique’s father, but soon both fell in love. Jane was touched by their story and was keen on uniting the two lovers.Â
Angelique was informed about Malcolm’s ghost being stuck at the pub, but she would not believe it and refused to allow the wedding to happen unless she could see him in front of her eyes. Jane and Brian contacted their friend Earl Dewberry, who was known to be good at getting in contact with souls. However, Jane did not trust him, but Brian asked Earl to formulate a plan to get Malcolm to the Keystone Inn. He came up with a miniature home and asked Malcolm to use his power to become a small entity. The smaller version of Malcolm was to be placed inside the miniature house and carried to the inn. This plan did not work out as the miniature house went up in flames.
Who came up with the idea of attaching the spirit to an item?
As the wedding day approached, Jane was fixated on uniting Angelique with Malcolm, while Brian was busy trying to find ways so that their wedding was not postponed. The bride and groom’s parents arrived for the wedding, and Brian’s mother let him know his father’s family originally belonged to this town and had moved away to Chicago many years later. Brian, however, was working on the phenomenon of spirits stuck to an item, something that was not taken seriously by his friends or his family. Malcolm remembered giving Angelique a medal to remember him by. He’d promised to marry her as soon as he was back in four days. The medal was now placed at the Irish Pub, where Malcolm was stuck.
Were Jane and Brian successful?
Jane and Brian were quick to ask the bar owner about the medal placed in the bar. Brian hesitantly paid for it because this was something he wanted to do to reunite the two ghosts who had been separated for centuries. Jane and Brian were close to making their plan a success, as the medal was as an item that bonded the two ghosts, and moving it would help Malcolm break free of the shackles that tied him to the bar. Malcolm got out of the bar, but at the same time the medal was accidentally knocked out of Brian’s hand, and it went down the drain. Malcolm was back stuck in the bar with no plan in sight that would reunite him with Angelique.Â
What did Jane learn about Angelique’s past?
Jane and Brian were quick to find out about his father’s ancestry, and he learned that he was a descendant of Malcolm’s brother. An upset Jane had lost hope of getting married to Brian, and it was all a Deja Vu moment for her. Jane had been left at the altar by her ex- fiancé, which devastated her. She was wondering if this engagement was taking the same route. Jane was under the impression that since Brian was not helping her find a proper solution for Angelique and Malcolm’s problem, he wanted to break up with her. Brian convinced her they were getting married for themselves and not just so some couple could not be reunited.Â
Jane shared the story of her last breakup with Angelique. The ghost at Keystone Inn finally realized Jane was a good person, as she was going out of her way to help Angelique reunite with Malcolm. She finally trusted Jane and Brian. Angelique could sense the pain and fear Jane had that they might not get through the wedding as planned. She felt Jane might lose hope in love eventually, and she would break up with Brian. Since Angelique and Malcolm had been apart for centuries, she did not want that fate for Jane. Angelique revealed Malcolm had had two wedding rings on him at the time of his death, which the jail officials had refused to share with her on the orders of her father.
Were Angelique and Malcolm reunited by Jane and Brian?
Jane and Brian realized the historical society might have the souvenir that could help them teleport Malcolm to the inn. Brian was as excited as Jane, and he joined her on the day of their wedding at the historical society office. This made her realize he really did love her, and he would go to any extent to keep her happy. Jane felt the need to bring two souls who were separated due to circumstances together, as it would help her start her married life on a good note. It was a feel-good deed she was fixated on. This was the first time they were helping a ghost instead of seeking one out, and it felt exciting. The premise of the Haunted Wedding was like the Hindi film Phillauri, starring Suraj Sharma and Anushka Sharma. The premise in the Hindi film was about a female ghost haunting an engaged man who is forced to look for her deceased fiancé as well. They come across a tragic incident when they dig deep into why the fiancé did not turn up at the wedding, while the woman who waited committed suicide and became a ghost.Â
In Haunted Wedding’s ending, Jane and Brian came in possession of the wedding rings that belonged to Malcolm and Angelique. As planned before, they used them to teleport Malcolm to the inn, and Angelique was reunited with the love of her life on the day Jane was to marry Brian. This was convenient, as everything fell into place just like a piece of the jigsaw puzzle. It was revealed that Angelique and Malcolm were also supposed to get married on the same day as Jane and Brian centuries ago. The coincidences kept increasing, but both stories had a fairy tale ending. The movie ended with both getting married. Jane and Brian were finally married as per their plans, while Malcolm and Angelique were reunited. Their nuptials were only witnessed by Jane and Brian, and they were happy to have taken painstaking tasks to unite them. The movie ended with both couples celebrating their unions.
