Goli Soda: Rising’s first three episodes were the setup of the show. There are multiple subplots introduced, and as the show progresses, all of them will likely merge. The third episode ended with Benz finally being caught. Ravi, the local gangster, came by the lodge to meet Thillai. Ravi wanted to take Thillai with him, while Maran was shocked to know his roommate was a highly connected person.

Spoilers Ahead

Why was Urandai livid?

Urandai’s men had captured Benz, who was last seen harassing and chasing a man through the Koyambedu market, asking for a bag of money. However, Urandai was livid at his men for capturing the wrong person. He respected Benz, but problems would arise if his rival Ravi was made aware of his capture. Urandai was not sure how to move forward with this matter, as he was afraid of the consequences of their actions.

What did the young boy reveal about his life?

The young boy who used to serve tea in the market had revealed he preferred sleeping near the new food truck owned by Chitappa, Kuttymani, Settu, Pulli, Atm, Yamini, and Aachi, the cook. He confessed to having been harassed by many men in the dark of the night. The boys running the food truck invited him into their homes so that the child could be safe. Subsequently, all of them got him admitted to a local school to make sure he was educated. The young kid soon began to prosper as he began to score good marks in the examinations.

Was Ravi happy to have Thillai back?

Ravi and his fiancée were happy to have Thillai back in their lives. Thillai was a big deal for them, and they treated him as their older brother. He sacrificed a large part of his life for them based on the reception they gave him at home, which was why Ravi and his fiancée wanted to help him get back on his feet. Thillai was not used to this kind of reception, as he wanted to lead a normal life post-his stint in prison. It seems likely  that Thillai took the blame for a crime Ravi committed in the past, making the gangster feel guilty and wanted the man on their side. Ravi, as a way to welcome Thillai into his family, discussed the details of his personal life as well.

Who was harassing the boys?

Urandai and his men arrived near the food truck, and his men began to drink alcohol near their establishment. Urandai, who was surprised to find a food truck in the vicinity, admonished his men for turning a public place into a bar. The boys running the food truck remained clueless as to why Urandai was trying to help them. Since they were aware Urandai was a local rowdy, they never wanted to be in his bad books as their business was just taking off. Urandai came to their rescue and offered good money in payment for the food his men had eaten. This baffled the boys further, and they were surprised to find him back defending them and their food truck business.

What was the job assigned to Thillai?

Thillai officially was part of Ravi’s team and he was given the job of taking care of the water plant established by Ravi to supply it to the neighborhoods. Thillai was excited about the job given to him, and he was joined by Maran as well. As Thillai and Maran began to visit supermarkets to sell the bottles, the latter met with Janaki. Maran and Janaki liked each other, but the only problem was their professions. Maran always flirted with her, and she never stopped him.

Who did Thillai recognize?

Thillai, who was at the same supermarket, recognized someone from his past and was stunned to have seen her after many years. It could be believed the woman and Thillai had been in love many years ago, and his prison stint may have led to them breaking up. Thillai was happy to have seen her, yet he did not approach to converse with her. Maran conversed with her over the business proposition of selling water when he mentioned Thillai’s name. She was shocked on hearing and spotted Thillai at the supermarket.

Who was released from prison?

Naidu, the powerful gangster who was looking to control the old and the new markets at Koyambedu, was not happy to find the boys he’d encouraged and morally supported being paraded by Ravi and his men. Naidu was an egotistical man, and he did not like the attention the Aachi boys were getting from the people. On the suggestion of his wives, he planned to use Mayil, his brother-in-law, against the boys. Mayil was a far more dreaded rowdy, who was brother to Naidu’s wives. They had hoped to use Mayil against Ravi and other opponents to take control of the market as well. Naidu wanted control of the market desperately. As shown in the first episode, he could beat them up, but Ravi refused to budge. Naidu also felt betrayed by the boys who’d started the food truck business, and wanted to get back at them as well. The only way to get control of things around him was to use Mayil’s physical strength and power.

Who was sent to harass the boys running the Aachi Mess?

Mayil was out of prison, and he was welcomed with a lot of celebration by Naidu, his henchmen, and his wives. Mayil was known to have carried out unspeakable crimes, which was why his coming out of prison was not good news for anybody. Mayil was only presented as a dangerous man, but there was no backstory provided as to what exactly he did in the past, which still made people afraid of him. The makers throughout the show so far have been vague with character details, and sadly, it only increases the confusion for the audience.

Episode four of the show ended with Mayil showing up at Aachis Mess to let the boys know of his arrival and dominance. It was understood that Chitappa, Kuttymani, Settu, Pulli, Atm, and Yamini knew of Mayil, and they were visibly afraid of his arrival. There was also history between them, and his arrival will be bad news for the people who run Aachi Mess and the food truck they owned. Mayil showcases his power by placing many cartons inside the Mess. The boys were so far clueless on how to tackle him. They probably did not know why Mayil showed up after a long time. The boys will resort to taking aid from Urandai to save them and their business from getting destroyed. There could be a possibility of Ravi indirectly getting involved which would lead to a full fledged war between groups in the Koyambedu market with the boys getting embroiled as well. This was his way of showing Mayil and his bosses could not be messed with, and the boys were in for trouble going forward. Aachi Mess and the food truck could be serious trouble going forward.
