The undead murderous creatures of Fromville have started to make their move as the first trailer of the third season of MGM+’s acclaimed supernatural mystery series, From, has been released at the San Diego Comic-Con. The second season of the series had turned out to be quite eventful in the final half, with Boyd being able to kill one of the terrifying nightly creatures using his blood, and Tabitha seemingly managing to leave Fromville after being pushed off the lighthouse by the boy in white. The central mystery of the town remains unresolved still as key characters try to figure out ways to escape on their own, and behind all this, Victor’s strange connection and knowledge of Fromville remain really crucial. The trailer highlights more troubles heading for Sheriff Boyd and co., a possible connection with the past which can allow Tabitha to rescue her family and others after all, and changing equations which will make survival in the hellish Fromville tougher than ever.
Corpse in the Wagon: Who Might Be the Newest Victim of the Monsters?
After revisiting Tabitha’s realization from the finale of the second season, the third season trailer begins with Boyd and Jade dragging a corpse in a wagon. In a conversation with Donna, a grief-stricken Boyd details the incident that claimed the life, saying there was an ambush, and it is also revealed that there were a number of people Boyd failed to save during the attack. Boyd and Jade have brought a single corpse, which implies the person in question is rather significant to the key characters, and it seems like the victim is a female. The identity of the person remains in question, but later in the trailer, a terrifying scene unfolds that is connected with this moment. Viewers see Kenny’s mother, Tien-Chen, getting surrounded by nocturnal monsters, and a cow is slaughtered by the monsters during the incident as well. The first scene connects with the beginning of the trailer as we see the carcass of the cow lying in the streets, which hints at the possibility that Kenny’s mother might not have made it. Later, we see an enraged Kenny destroy a radio in the diner, which also points at the tragic possibility. Boyd takes the corpse into the church, and later we see a congregation gathered there for the funeral. Donna seems to be especially distressed by the helpless situation and turns to Boyd for help.
Throughout the trailer, we see glimpses of monster attacks on a number of townsfolk. Julie and Ethan are seen getting home invaded by the old woman monster (from the first episode of the series); Randall and Boyd are seen getting cornered by a number of monsters, with a nurse monster even taunting Boyd, stating he will not be able to save them all. Later, Boyd also gets dragged and tortured by a number of monsters/newcomers of the town, and the entirety of the scenario begs the question of whether Tabitha’s escape from Fromville triggered this new surge of monster attacks.
Where Did Tabitha Go For Help?
Speaking of Tabitha, she has finally escaped Fromville (or entered a higher stage of the simulation), and her immediate priority is to try to find a way to help her family and other trapped townsfolk escape the town as well. She is seen speaking with a priest about her unbelievable experiences, and later we see her visiting the home of an elderly person who might have a connection with the godforsaken place. A tree with hanging bottles similar to what Boyd and Tabitha came across in the wilderness of Fromville is seen outside the house. Additionally, the old man is seen directing Tabitha to the basement room of his house, where a number of creepy, ominous paintings are seen—which look quite alike to Victor’s drawings. Viewers also see a number of photographs in the wall of the sibling duo, which indicate the possibility that Tabitha has come across Victor and his lost sister, Eloise’s house. Will Tabitha be able to find a definite meaning behind all of this, or is she going to get stuck further inside the maze?
Changes in Fromville
Things are changing in Fromville, and if the previous seasons serve as any indication, change is never good news. Victor had noticed that the weather was changing in the previous season, and in the third season trailer it is shown that it is snowing in the Fromville. Victor remarks about finding whatever is missing, as the slightest alterations might create a ripple effect later on. Jim and Kenny are seen venturing into the wilderness, where they come across strange voodoo dolls, which adds to the number of unresolved clues discovered so far. Jade continues getting ominous visions of the past and tries to identify the strange recurrent symbol he came across as well. There is a strong chance that Victor shares news of whatever happened to Tabitha with Jade, and together, they can work their way through to make sense of the place. A creepy puppet is seen moving on its own, and the boy in white can be seen in a past timeline, during Victor’s childhood. Jim hears the phone ringing, which once again indicates a really troubling situation, as the ones in control of the Fromville communicate with the trapped victims only to share some horrible update.
Overall, the trailer is as intriguing, puzzling, and creepy as the series itself, and despite not giving viewers a definite idea about what to expect, it significantly amps up our curiosity. The third season will premiere on September 22nd, and after watching the trailer repeatedly, we can hardly wait any longer for the release date.
