Episode three of Bel-Air ended with Frederick showing his true side, which is that he was trying to be a criminal in Bel Air and using his father’s power to get things done. He also revealed his real self to Will and Carlton and threatened them with exposing their participation in streetcar races unless they kept their silence about his work in the world of illegal betting. Lamarcus, Hillary’s boyfriend, suffered a concussion on the field, and she could not confess to him about the kiss between her and Jazz.

Was Lamarcus alive?
The episode began with Lamarcus being shifted to the hospital after he fainted on the field during a crucial game. Hillary was by his side from that moment, and she chose to keep her secret to herself. Lamarcus was slowly recovering from the concussion, and Hillary’s family were by her side in no time.
What happened to Will while pitching the business idea?
Will and Carlton were at a small get-together organized by Quentin with a bunch of people who wanted to start a small business with the help of the ex-MMA star. Since he was impressed with Will and Carlton’s pitch of starting a merchandise brand whose profits would go to businesses run by African-American people. However, during the presentation, Carlton was the one who was up to date on the business jargon and the technical details of the business they were launching. Will was the one responsible for the orders of the apparel and other logistic parts of it. On being asked questions about the profitability of the business, Carlton seemed to have more knowledge about it, and Will came across as ignorant, which caused a little friction between the two after the presentation.
Was Vivian talking to Phil?
Vivian was still livid about Phil not informing her about him kissing Erica, his old college girlfriend. Erica was also his peer; she was a lawyer who was a partner at a law firm and had generously offered several of her clients to Phil’s law firm to kickstart their business. Vivian, who was the chairman of the Neeman Art Fellowship, was busy with her work and was not ready to talk about Phil’s infidelity. Phil wanted to talk to her, but she was not willing to forgive him yet or hear him out about how to move forward.
What was Phil’s idea of expanding the business?
Phil and Geoffrey came up with the idea of cutting off Erica and her law firm. This was his way of conveying to his wife that he was willing to cut himself away from his ex for the sake of their marriage and the love he had for Vivian. He decided to approach the real estate mogul, Omar Campbell, who initially did not want to work with Phil. However, Phil decided to give it another try by pacifying the protesters against Omar Campbell, a real estate mogul. The man was looking for a legal representation for his company and Phil found a way to show his negotiation skills. He spoke to the protesters and Omar was impressed with his work as the protestors heard Phil out. Omar finally made Phil his company’s legal counselor, and they began their work together.
What was Hillary concerned about?
Hillary was upset to watch Lamarcus’ father not being serious about his son’s heart condition that was diagnosed after his hospitalization. Both father and the coach were already discussing his comeback. She was vocal about her concerns, as she wanted Lamarcus to fully recover before considering going back to the field. She had a conversation with her father about the same, who asked her to be honest with him and be by his side all the way. Hillary was also a witness to Lamarcus trying to walk, and observed he was finding it difficult to do so. Lamarcus was vulnerable at this point and was worried his career was over as he did not have any skills other than playing football. Hillary reminded him he was indeed a great player, but he would have to fully recover to make a stronger comeback. Hillary eventually posted a picture of them together on social media to let the world know that he was slowly recovering and that he would make a comeback soon.
Did Vivian talk about her marital problems with her friends?
Vivian wanted a blowout with her friends and did not want to think about her marital problems. She had a night out with her friends at the nightclub. She eventually informed them about Phil’s digressions and Erica being the reason behind it. Her friends were supportive of her decision not to want to deal with the matter now. As they got drunk, they joked about wanting to beat Erica up for messing up Vivian’s relationship with Phil again after many years.
Did the picnic with Amira and Lisa not go well?
The tension between Will and Carlton was getting worse. Their girlfriends showed up at the right time and suggested a beachside picnic to simmer things down. Will could not stop complaining to Lisa about Carlton being ‘Mr. Know-It-All’. Carlton was angry at Will for not doing the basic study on understanding how the business world works, and felt he should have known about the numbers. The friction led to a small altercation between the two in which Amira and Lisa interfered and separated them. Lisa suggested Will amp it up and work on the numbers and get to know the terms if he was serious about impressing the investors. His charm wouldn’t work all the time if the investors could see he was all talk and no action. Amira also suggested Carlton let Will catch up to him. Carlton was educated about the business world thanks to his father, while Will was new to this sphere. She suggested he give him the benefit of the doubt, which would eventually bring them to the same page, that would help their business to prosper.
What did Carlton inform Geoffrey of?
Carlton came clean about his participation in the streetcar race to Geoffrey without worrying about the consequences. He also confessed Fredrick was into something dangerous, and that he’d threatened him and Will to remain quiet about his work. Carlton was close to Geoffrey, and he was aware the man was excited to have his son around. Will wanted them to keep quiet about it, but Carlton wanted to come clean about the conscience. He did not want to get into any trouble that would affect his Princeton application. Geoffrey took Carlton’s words seriously, as there was no reason to doubt the words of the boy he had seen grow up. Carlton was afraid that Geoffrey would act up, but that did not happen. Since Carlton was also coming out of rehab and he had learned to come clean about any mistakes he made. This was also one of the reasons he informed Geoffrey about Frederick and the kind of shady jobs he was into.
Did Carlton and Will patch up?
Carlton and Will finally began to talk about why they should perhaps not bicker from the start of their business. Will was honest about him being on the backfoot about the numbers and jargon since he had never done this before. He also stated their business would be doomed if he and Carlton were not eventually on the same page about how to run Blackccess. Carlton agreed with him and promised to not upstage him in front of others as they were a team. They could disagree behind the scenes but never in public, which would affect the image of the brand they were building. Will and Carlton had the sense to patch up instead of letting their egos get in the way of their goal to start a business. Will was not the smartest boy; he was keen on making things right for the sake of the work both were putting in.
Carlton wanted to be a supporting business partner as well and let Will take his own course, as he had always been a responsible cousin. The episode ended with Will and Carlton receiving the delivery of 1000 hoodies of Blackccess, which was a lot more than the orders placed. Carlton quickly learns Will had ordered 1000 hoodies by mistake, and instead of lashing out at him, he lets Will take it up as a challenge to sell all the merchandise. They had to pay the person who printed the hoodies, make a profit, and donate the rest to the African American business. This was a huge ask, but Carlton was sure Will would not disappoint them. The last scene of the episode involved Geoffrey snooping around Frederick’s room and finding some narcotics in his bag. This proved Carlton’s concerns were right as Frederick was bad news, and he needed to be tackled in Geoffrey’s way.
