Spoilers Ahead
What happened to Harold and Apollo?
The first victims in the cursed house where Beezel lived were Harold Weems’ wife and their child. Harold’s wife had sacrificed herself to the beast in the basement because it had haunted their family. Harold did everything he could to keep the creature, and his wife, locked down in the basement so that it could not harm him or his kid. But on May 22, 1966, their child tried to bring food to his hungry mother in the basement, despite Harold’s desperate attempts to stop him, and tragically, both the child and the mother were killed by Beezel. Naturally, no one believed a monster was responsible as most people assumed Harold was the real monster who had murdered them. But, to prove his innocence, Harold documented the gruesome state of the bodies, maggot-infested flesh, and bones to show the world that no human could have caused such horrors. After this, Harold remarried, and his new wife also came to believe in Beezel. The creature didn’t just eat flesh but it also manipulated the minds of the people who lived in the house to gain control over them and turn them into its successors.
Harold wanted to share his story with the world, so he called over a documentarian named Apollo to capture what had really happened. But Harold had darker plans as he secretly intended to sacrifice both himself and Apollo to Beezel, though he never told Apollo this outright. Harold drugged Apollo’s food and water to make him weak and more compliant. Then, he shared the story of his first wife and child and took Apollo to the basement to show Apollo his detailed records of the dead bodies to further unsettle him. After tying up Apollo, Harold explained how he had been chosen by Beezel. He told Apollo that after his death, anyone who came to the house would be forced to continue feeding the beast. Among those victims, Beezel would select someone to give birth to its child as a ritual that takes place every 300 years. As Harold was about to complete his speech, Apollo managed to free himself and stabbed Harold in the neck, and killed him. Even though at first Apollo thought Harold’s tale was just a made-up horror story, Apollo tried to escape. But as he ran, his throat was slashed by Beezel, who then feasted on him. And who was listening to this whole thing from outside the basement and did not even come to rescue them, not even her own husband? Harold’s second wife, because she knew now that it was her turn to serve her husband’s purpose and continue feeding the beast.
What happened to the nurses?
As Mrs. Weems grew older, she became even more possessed by Beezel. Every time a nurse came to care for her, Mrs. Weems would end up sacrificing them to the monster in the basement, as even though she tried to stop Beezel from devouring them, it seemed she had no choice, as Mrs Weems was already cursed. The last time this happened was on November 20, 2003, when a nurse named Naomi came to care for Mrs. Weems, but she realized something felt off about the house, as it felt like someone, or something, was always watching her. One day, Naomi found a recording left by the previous nurse named Charlotte, where she described the strange events about how Mrs. Weems, even in her sleep, would wake up muttering about feeding Beezel and said how one is never enough. It looked like, before Charlotte, another nurse named Linda had also been fed to the beast. At first, Naomi didn’t believe it, but soon after, she heard noises and cries for help coming from the basement. When she went down to check, she saw Charlotte, bloodied, pleading for help with her eyes. Naomi knew she had to do something, so she crawled down into the basement, where she found the ID badges of the previous nurses hanging on the walls, which was proof that Beezel had already fed on them. Just as Naomi entered the basement, Beezel appeared, ready to attack. Mrs. Weems came downstairs and locked the door from the outside to trap Naomi inside with the creature. The old woman had no choice but to let her master feast on yet another victim and serve her husband’s purpose.
What happened to Lucas?
Ten years after the incident with Mrs. Weems and the nurses, her son Lucas and his wife returned to the house to sell it as they had heard all the rumors about people calling Mrs. Weems a witch and the monster in the house, so Lucas thought getting rid of the house would lift the burden from their family. While Lucas’s wife was strangely fascinated by the monster stories tied to the house, Lucas wasn’t, and blamed the house for ruining his childhood and regretted that his mother had ever married Harold or joined his cult. Lucas had no love for his father, and he wanted nothing to do with the role of “successor” Harold had wanted him to fulfill. However, selling the house wasn’t easy, as no one wanted to buy it, but on the other hand, Lucas’s wife dreamed of staying in the house and starting a family there. So, Beezel saw Lucas’s wife as the perfect target and started to haunt her to gradually possess her mind and body. Soon, Beezel even impregnated her, as though Beezel was fulfilling its ritual of creating a child every 300 years. Even though not in the way she had imagined, Lucas’s wife also got her wish of starting a family at the same time. As Lucas prepared to leave the house after finally selling it, his wife got fully possessed by Beezel, dressed in his mother’s nightgown, and attacked him with a knife as she was completely under the creature’s control and refused to leave the house, even if it meant killing her husband. Tragically, Lucas was killed, and after giving birth to the monstrous child in the basement, Lucas’s wife died too. Finally, Beezel devoured their child to make itself even stronger to live forever.
In Beezel’s ending, some new buyers moved into the house with their kids. It seems like a fresh start for them, but we, as the audience, already know what’s waiting for them as Beezel still lurks in the basement and is ready to make them its next victims. So, the cycle is bound to continue.
