Wanchai
Wanchai, played by Weir Sukollawat Kanarot, was a dedicated rescue officer, who in the midst of a protest that happened in the Ruamjai housing project bravely rushed in to help an injured protester and risked his own safety. Unfortunately, this act of heroism did not end well, because after the situation escalated and chaos erupted, Wanchai was held responsible for putting his team at risk, especially after his friend Pond suffered severe burn injuries as he tried to help Wanchai. As a result, Wanchai lost his job as a rescue officer, which left him feeling lost and unsure of what to do next. Despite losing his position, Wanchai remained determined to help others, especially Pond, who came from a poor family and needed support during his long recovery. Wanchai felt a deep sense of responsibility for what happened to Pond, and even after he was kidnapped, along with Meiji, by Saisin, he helped them as well, because such was his nature. When Saisin, the notorious criminal, was wounded, Wanchai couldn’t just turn his back on him even though he knew how dangerous he was, Wanchai chose to help him out of compassion. Even though Saisin offered him money to help find Mr. Wichai’s daughter, Wanchai’s motivations were pure, as he wanted to save the girl because it was the right thing to do, not for any financial gain. As the story progressed, Wanchai and Meiji worked together to save themselves from the dangerous situation they found themselves in. They used their skills and minds to locate Mr. Wichai’s daughter and bring her back safely through the sirens and fire. In the end, their bravery paid off, and they successfully reunited the girl with her father. All Wanchai really wanted was to stay true to his values and help those in need. Maybe because of this goodwill, it finally paid off when the notorious protestor and gang leader let him leave with the girl, because he knew Wanchai was an honest, good man, unlike the police officers who only looked out for themselves. Eventually, Wanchai got his old job back, working as an ambulance driver and paramedic, which was a good resolution to his story.
Meiji
Mind Atitaya Tribudarak played the character of Meiji, whose real name was Mei, but she chose to use a fancier name because it sounded more posh. Before becoming a nurse, Meiji had been a model, but she fell into huge debt. That’s why she took the job of a nurse at the Imperial Hospital. Even though she didn’t really want to be a nurse, she needed the money to survive. When Saisin offered money to help him find Mr. Wichai’s daughter, Meiji was the first to take the opportunity. At that moment, she wasn’t thinking about helping the girl; she was focused on the cash, as she knew she had to look out for herself, and being poor made it hard for her to think about what the ethical thing to do was. However, as she got to know Wanchai, her perspective started to change. Wanchai showed her that, even in difficult situations, people could still be good and do the right thing. Inspired by him, Meiji began to help the villagers who had injuries and wounds and she used her skills as a nurse to treat them. Later, when the villagers needed her help during a crisis, they rallied around her, just as she had supported them. This act of selflessness turned the tide for Meiji, and in the end, she even became a paramedic herself, which made her story come full circle. She learned that doing the right thing and helping others could also lead to her own healing and growth.
Saisin and Bank
Saisin, played by Duu Sanya Kunakorn, was known as the uncle of Bank, played by Fluke Teerapat Lohanan, but in reality, Saisin was actually Bank’s father. Saisin had had a difficult life, as Bank’s mother was deep in debt, and because of that, she was killed by debt collectors. From a young age, Saisin raised Bank, but since he was involved in illegal activities, his criminality made Bank a criminal too, out of necessity, but he reached a breaking point. Abducting Mr. Wichai’s daughter was supposed to be his last job, as it would earn him two million baht. With that money, he planned to buy an orchard and start a peaceful life with Bank. However, after he kidnapped the little girl, he quickly realized he had made a terrible mistake, because hurting innocent children was never his cup of tea. When a member of his gang threatened to harm the child, Saisin took a horrible step and killed him, which showed that he was willing to protect the girl and wanted to return her safely to her father. He didn’t trust the police, as he believed they could turn on him at any moment, especially after seeing how they had killed his son, Bank, right in front of him. Saisin saw something in Wanchai and Meiji that gave him hope, and decided to trust them, so he told them to return the girl to Mr. Wichai. Saisin actions proved that, deep down, he wasn’t a bad guy. Saisin was a father trying to do what he thought was best for his son, caught up in a situation that forced him to make terrible choices.
Duangkamol
Natthaya Ongsritragul plays Duangkamol who was Mr. Wichai’s daughter and the heart of the story. Duangkamol suffers from a serious heart condition, and she feels a lot of pressure because she doesn’t want to disappoint her father, who is a respected figure in the community. When she is abducted, Duangkamol shows incredible bravery. Despite her fears, she tries to stay strong and in the end with the help of Wanchai, Bank, Saisin, and Meiji, she ultimately gets back to her father.
Darlie, and Jacky
Sutipat Sutiwanit plays Jacky, and Day Thaitanium plays Darlie, and they were two of the notorious gang members in the Ruamjai housing village. They were deeply involved in serious crimes like human trafficking and smuggling cocaine hidden in dead bodies, using those bodies to either feed animals or for organ trading. Darlie was cunning and always looking out for himself, so In a desperate attempt to save his own skin, he tried to shake hands with the police to find the girl. However, Jacky fought back and kidnapped the police chief, played by Nat Sakdatorn at the end. Jacky’s goal was to use the chief as leverage to trade organs and retaliate against the police force, who she believed had disrupted the peace in their community.
