Bad Cop episode 7 ended with Raghav’s death. Bala had killed the rage-filled and arrogant nephew of Kazbe, but he blamed the murder on Karan in the hope of creating a clash between the police officer and the gangster. Arif Khan was also ordered to not make all the arrests at once to avoid making it a big mess. Since episode 8 was the final episode of Bad Cop season 1, there were a lot of loose ends to tie up as Arjun’s identity was very close to being exposed.
Spoilers Ahead
Why did Kazbe kidnap Karan and Devika’s daughter?
The eighth episode began with Rhea being kidnapped by Kazbe’s man, Bala. Arjun and Rhea were having some dad-and-daughter time, which was when the kidnapping took place. Bala, on the instruction of Kazbe, threatened Arjun to deliver the consignment back to them in exchange for their daughter. Arjun had no choice but to oblige them, as he could not put Rhea’s life in danger because of his plans to kill Kazbe.
What was the purpose of the CIB raid at Devika’s police station?
The CIB team led by Arif raided the police station that was headed by Devika. Devika, as expected, was shocked at the turn of events and learned from Arif about Arjun and Karan being suspects in the Anand Mishra murder case. Arif’s team was at the police station to gather all forms of intelligence that were passed on between Karan and Kazbe and wanted to find dirt on the superior officers as well. A panicked Devika asked her husband to come back to the station as Arif was expecting him. Devika was a clean and upright officer, and having Karan by her side to prove Arif wrong was what she expected, but matters did not turn out the way she wanted.
What did Arjun have to do to save Karan’s daughter?
Arjun on reaching the docks, found out Bala was the same person he saw at the scene of Anand Mishra’s death. This was when he concluded he was in Kazbe’s den, and getting out of the mess with Rhea would be difficult for him. Even though he got the consignment back to them, he learned the pool table in the truck contained illegal ivory tusks and they’d covered the prized possessions with some chemical. Arjun was forced to load the illegal items onto the ships with the help of his contact at customs. Bala had to force his hand to do this as Rhea was still in his custody, and the killer knew Arjun’s real identity. It was Kiki who shared this information in the hope of teaching him a lesson about abandoning her.
How did the CIB locate Karan?
Devika learned that Rhea and Karan were in trouble. Arif’s tech team tracked Karan to the docks using his phone. There was no time to waste as Devika and her team joined Arif’s team to corner Karan in the hope that he would divulge information about his role in aiding Kazbe’s gang. Things didn’t go as planned for anyone, as a gunfight ensued while Kazbe’s consignment was being loaded for export to the Chinese businessmen.
Why did Kazbe want to meet Karan?
As Bala and his men were busy tackling the police at the dock, Kazbe decided to confront Karan, as he believed he had killed Raghav. The whole idea behind kidnapping Rhea was to take revenge on Karan for killing Raghav. An injured Arjun revealed he had never killed Raghav. Kazbe was surprised, but he didn’t really have the time to find out if he was telling the truth. Arjun ended up injuring many of Kazbe’s men. The gangster revealed he would never be able to locate his daughter Rhea.
Was Rhea rescued?
Devika’s only aim was to find Karan and Rhea and to make sure neither was harmed during the gunfight. Her daughter was her only source of happiness, and so far, her relationship with her husband was only getting better. She did not want any untoward tragedy to wreck this. Devika so far was unable to figure out that the man living with him was not Karan but Arjun. Devika ran into Arjun and yelled at him for putting Rhea in danger. Arjun was trying to pacify himself and Devika and thinking hard about where Rhea might be being held captive.
Arjun had grown attached to Rhea because of his connection with his brother. He was happy to know that Rhea saw him as a father figure, and he was slowly growing into his parental duties. Even though he’d been put in a messed-up situation because of his brother, Arjun could not possibly put Rhea in trouble just because of his complicated past. Rhea was eventually found by Arjun and Devika in the dock itself. He had to beg Devika to leave, as he did not want her to know of his identity. He also knew Kazbe was still at large, and that Arif was after him and the gangster to get to the bottom of the case.
Did Arjun reveal his identity?
Devika left the premises, as she had joined Arif only to save her daughter from being harmed in any way. She had come close to losing her husband, and she did not intend to lose her daughter as well. Kazbe left the dock before Arif could corner him as well, as the shipment was being sent under his supervision. The gangster had learned it wasn’t Karan who had killed Raghav, so he would be keen to find out who was behind his nephew’s murder. Arif, who was busy going after Karan, Kazbe, and his henchmen, got involved in a gunfight with Bala. It was Bala’s sketch that had been shared with Arif, and he was very close to nabbing the man. We don’t receive any closure on Kazbe’s story, and it’s difficult to tell what his fate will be. Arif could not nab him, but he will get to him through Arjun. It would be difficult to prove Kazbe’s involvement in his murder. The only proof against Kazbe at this point was Anand Mishra’s video. The man could be in trouble if Arif finds more evidence against him. Since Kazbe was not aware of Karan’s death and Arjun taking up the identity, he will be in for a surprise unless Kiki has not informed him of the switch. Arif wanted to make the first set of arrests in the Anand Mishra case now that he knew Karan was directly involved in it. Except for Arjun himself and his girlfriend Kiki, no one knew up until now about Karan’s demise. Arif had his story made up in his head about how Karan and Arjun may have orchestrated the murder of Anand Mishra and gotten Bala involved as well.
In Bad Cop‘s ending, as Bala was close to killing Arif, Arjun shot him dead. Arif was just getting ready to confront the corrupt police officer when Arjun had a meltdown. Arjun claimed that he was the one who was supposed to be the bad guy and Karan was supposed to be the opposite. This indicates Arjun was still reeling from the shock after learning his brother was a corrupt cop who did not care about his job or the duty that came with it. Below are mere speculations based on the season finale ending, which had Arjun coming clean about his identity. He revealed he was not Karan, and there was a lot that needed to be unearthed before he was arrested.
Bad Cop season 1 ended with a cliffhanger which indicated there would be a season two that would further drag out this story of a brother who took up the identity of his deceased identical twin. Arjun will most likely be arrested in the next season, and he will have to expand on why he chose to be Karan all this while. Arif would probably ask him to pretend to be Karan for some more time just to get closer to Kazbe, find more dirt on the gangster, and gather evidence about his illegal ivory business that led to Anand Mishra’s death.
