‘Bad Cop’ Episode 7 Recap: Will Kazbe Decide To Take Revenge On Karan?

Bad Cop episode 6 ended with CIB officer Arif Khan and his team finally gaining access to the hard disk that belonged to the slain journalist Anand Mishra. It included details of the people who were involved in the illegal ivory trade. Anand Mishra had saved a video he recorded which revealed inspector Karan Naik, his colleague Rahil, their seniors at the force, and the MLA were protecting Kazbe as he was instrumental in the slaughter of elephants and the ivory trade. Arif was now aware Karan was the bad cop, and he wondered if he had misled him by offering the sketch of the man who killed Anand Mishra. Unbeknownst to anyone except Arjun, Karan was dead. It looks like Arjun’s headed into deep trouble, as a lot of secrets will be uncovered, including his taking over the identity of his dead twin brother.

Spoilers Ahead

Why did Arjun meet Kazbe?

Arjun met with Kazbe to learn more about the gangster’s connection with the consignment and he wasn’t willing to share its location until he found out what the deal was. As Arjun learned his brother had been involved with Kazbe, he wanted to know how deep into this nexus Karan was. Arjun learned his brother had asked for a huge amount as a bribe, which was why he was attacked by Kazbe.

Arjun now knew why his brother was killed, but for Kazbe, it was just an attack on him. An angry Arjun pretending to be his brother almost killed Raghav in front of Kazbe for insinuating that he would kill Karan and molest his wife and daughter. Kazbe had offered INR 2.5 crores, and Arjun was shocked to find out his brother was indeed a corrupt man; he was in a dilemma about whether to accept the bribe and continue Karan’s work.

Was Devika admonished for the disappearance of the shipment?

Devika was cornered by her seniors over the disappeared consignment that was ready to be released but was nowhere to be found. The senior official also made a sexist comment about her gender, which forced her to openly talk about the about the department that had to release the items belonging to Kazbe on the minister’s orders. It indicated that she knew the minister was corrupt, but the police cannot make a move without solid evidence. Arjun came out in support of her as a colleague and a partner, and she was happy that there was someone who backed her plans. Arjun also lied to his senior about not knowing the location of the truck that contained all of Kazbe’s consignment.

What did Arjun find in his brother’s room?

Arjun had a memory from his childhood when Karan tried to pacify him by claiming he planned to become a police officer and would rescue him and offer a better life but Arjun confronted and branded his brother as selfish and hungry for power. This memory reminded him of a diary his brother used to keep since the days of his youth which included details of his life. After ransacking Karan’s room, Arjun remembers the tiny suitcase below his bed. On opening the suitcase he was shocked to find the details of the nexus in the diary. He’d put the man on a pedestal all this while as he looked at himself as a bad person for indulging in crime. Karan was a dirty cop, and that could have been the reason why he and Devika had stopped getting along, because of their opposing views of what a police officer should be. Devika was back home, and she revealed she felt good about Karan standing up for her at the station. The two ended up kissing even though Arjun was not sure if this was the right move.

Did Kiki wait for Arjun?

Arjun had informed Kiki about the bribe Karan was getting in return for protecting Kazbe and his illegal ivory trade. Since this was a huge amount, Arjun was in a moral dilemma. Arjun wanted to use the money to run away with Kiki as she suggested, but he also wanted to avenge his brother, who had died. Arjun so far was unsure about what move to make as he learned his brother was not a good man and was willing to give up on his marriage as well for the sake of the money. Now that he was gone, Arjun had to take a stand. Kiki had asked him to show up but Arjun never did that.

What was Arif Khan advised to do?

Arif Khan had informed his boss about the intel he had received from Anand Mishra’s hard disk, and he was keen on making arrests as soon as possible. His boss, however, warned him his move would be erratic, and that it would be no time everyone mentioned by Anand Mishra in his expose video would be given bail, and Arif wouldn’t be able to do anything post that. Arif’s boss requested he find solid evidence and make the arrests one by one instead of going after everyone together. This seemed like a solid plan, and Arif would have to come up with a detailed one that would include arresting Arjun.

Why did Bala kill Raghav?

Raghav was drunk and raging at Karan for trying to show off his power as a police officer. The man was livid for not being given enough power to showcase his caliber as the right-hand man of Kazbe. He was frantic to show his skills, especially to his uncle. His arrogance came from the fact that he was Kazbe’s nephew, and no one would dare to touch him or worse, hurt him. Raghav was also livid at Bala as Kazbe asked the tall man to take over the case.

Raghav had made many blunders, but he wasn’t willing to take the blame for it, and expected to be given a chance to rectify it. Kazbe had to bring in Bala, as he trusted the man with his life. Bala was overconfident and killed a raging Raghav out of the pure anger he had towards him. Bala lied to Kazbe and shifted the blame on Karan for killing his nephew after they had a minor spat earlier that day. Bala was sure this would further cause friction between Karan and Kazbe.

Will Kazbe decide to take revenge on Karan?

Arjun was in a solid dilemma, and only time would tell what his plan of action shall be to save himself from getting killed. He might have to eventually reveal his identity, but that would only make the situation worse. Kazbe was upset and angry at the same time on learning how Raghav was murdered. Since he was also witness to the clash between Karan and Raghav, he was willing to believe the police officer killed his nephew in retaliation for not offering the amount he had demanded in return for protecting his ivory. Kazbe assumed he was now at war with Karan and there would be a lot more casualties, and one of them could be Devika or their daughter.

Kazbe, at the funeral of Raghav, was confronted by his sister, Raghav’s mother. The man was feeling guilty for exposing Raghav to the life of crime and it took losing him to realize things were going to get bad from this point on. Kazbe believed Karan had changed his mind and turned to working with the police to arrest him. Since he was not aware of Karan’s death and Arjun taking over, the man had already come up with a plan to get rid of his ex-ally in the police department and most likely kill him.

Bad Cop episode 7 ended with Kiki attending Raghav’s funeral, but it was not clear how she learned of his death and appeared out of nowhere. She was at the funeral to reveal Arjun’s identity and the fact that he was after Kazbe to avenge his brother’s death. Kiki was livid and assumed Arjun had chosen a life of comfort as a police officer. She planned to make sure Kazbe was informed, and he would do the rest, as the man was very powerful. The next episode most likely would expose Arjun, and there would be a massive showdown.
