Episode four of Bad Cop ends with Arjun describing the killer to the police-appointed sketch artist. It is surprising to know Arjun only got a glimpse of the killer and was able to describe the man. Arjun was also afraid Arif would catch up with him and his identity would be exposed. Arif was also questioning bookies who were at the party the night Anand Mishra was killed, as they spotted another man leaving the hotel premises.

Spoilers Ahead

What was Arjun’s plan of action with the sketch?

Arjun had the suspected killer sketched as a ploy to get himself out of the case before Arif Khan of CIB caught up to him. He asked his subordinate to run the sketch through their database to find out who the man could be. He also asked him to send the sketch to all the police stations around them to get to the bottom of this. Arjun claimed the man in the sketch killed Rahil, and he wanted justice for his deceased colleague. Arjun was making sure all of this was done discreetly, but none of it made sense, as Devika was his superior, and she would ask questions about his method of investigation and him not keeping her in the loop.

Was Kiki in trouble?

Arjun’s next plan had him involve his girlfriend Kiki to look for the man in the sketch. He sent her the image and spoke to her over the phone, asking for help. Arjun was speaking to Kiki from Karan and Devika’s home, which was bugged by Arif Khan. Arif unfortunately couldn’t use the recording as evidence as it was planted illegally, and he could face the heat of snooping on the police officers. Arif was under the impression that it was Karan who was speaking to Kiki. Kiki got out of the lodge in no time as CIB tracked the location of her phone. Arif and his team followed, but they could not catch her. However, she was able to convey information about the police following her to Arjun. Kiki was in trouble, and Arjun had a hunch as a result of which he asked her to abandon her phone in the taxi to avoid being arrested. Arif and his team were a tad bit late, as Kiki, as instructed, left her phone and ran away.

Why was Devika concerned about the consignment?

Devika, however, was perplexed about why Kazbe was concerned about the pool table found in the truck they had confiscated. Devika could not join the dots as there was so far no evidence of an illegal ivory trade that emerged. Devika and Arjun were having a conversation about his changed habits. Devika, who noticed the change of habits, could still not differentiate between her husband and Arjun.

How did Arjun plan to swap the trucks carrying the consignment?

Arjun overheard the conversation between Devika and her colleague and realized the only way to get to Kazbe was to hijack the truck and let him come out in the open to discuss his brother’s death. The sketch of the man that Arjun circulated worked for Kazbe. He was nowhere near finding a connection between Anand Mishra and Karan’s deaths. He used his power as a cop and the help of his colleague to swap the confiscated truck. He wanted to get closer to Kazbe by pulling this stunt. He expects a reaction from the gangster in the hope it will help him find out why Karan was targeted. There was a possibility that the truck had the ivory, which was meant for illegal export, and Arjun, so far, wasn’t aware of such contraband.

Why was Kazbe livid?

Kazbe was livid upon finding out the truck was swapped and the consignment in it was now lost, nowhere to be found. He was again mad at his nephew and the lawyer who was given the task of safely bringing back the truck after it was released by the police. Kazbe was not sure how to handle the matter as he was under pressure from another team to whom he had promised the illegally acquired ivory, which was meant to be sold to Chinese businessmen. Kazbe essentially asked his nephew to step back and asked Bala to step in to salvage the situation. Bala was the same man whose likeness Arjun had sketched. Bala was the man who killed Anand Mishra. Raghav was not keen on having Bala around, as all of them knew he had killed journalist Anand Mishra and there was an ongoing investigation. This was the first time on the show there was an admission of the crime and Kazbe’s involvement in it. Both cases are finally converging, and eventually, Arif and Arjun were going to find the middle ground centering on Kazbe.

Did Arif find the evidence he was looking for?

Arif only had an illegal recording, inadmissible in court. Arif was also under fire for being unable to get his hands on the killer who murdered Anand Mishra. So far, their only lead was the distorted image of the man from the CCTV they acquired from the hotel. His only suspect was Arjun, and the investigation had not reached Kazbe yet. He was fixated on finding out if Karan was in touch with Arjun, which would lead him to the only suspect they had on their radar. Kiki had disappeared, and Arif believed Karan was in touch with his brother through his girlfriend. The only breakthrough his digital team found was the call between Karan and Arjun. Arif assumed the contact established could be used to nab Arjun. Unbeknownst to anyone, this could be Arjun’s ploy to find out if their home was bugged or not. It was only he who was aware of his twin brother’s death.

Arjun wanted to know how the police had begun to trace Kiki. Arif was hell-bent on finding a link between Karan and Arjun. This conversation would help him get closer to Anand Mishra’s killer, or so he believed. Arif Khan was angry and upset at the same time for losing his best friend the way he did, and he made sure to form a case that would frame Arjun. Arjun wanted to prove Arif Khan was gathering his intel illegally. This could be the moment Arif and Arjun might do a barter. Arjun would reveal himself, and in return for his silence on his home being bugged, he’d haggle for the charges against him to be dropped. Arjun will most likely share a sketch he was in possession of the suspected killer.
