‘Back To 15’ Season 3 Recap And Ending Explained: Did Anita And Joel Delete The Photo Blog?

Back to 15 season two ended with Anita and Joel deciding to delete the Photo Blog account as they did not want to mess with their past and future. Joel and Anita kissed each other first in the last episode but by the end of it, Fabricio confessed his feelings for Anita and kissed her. Back to 15 season 3 follows Anita’s quest to find the third time traveler who seems to be messing with her past thereby harming her future. Anita brings in Joel as well to help her out but it takes some time to figure out who the other time traveler could be.

Did Anita log out of the Photo Blog?

Anita tried to delete the Photo Blog but could not, as it seemed someone else had logged in from another account, and was using the portal for time travel. Anita traveled back to 2009, and she found herself on the Cafezinhos University campus with her friends from school, Carol, Camilla, and Bruna. Jessica was the new roommate in their home they called “Empress House Crew,” and Bruna was attracted to her. Fabricio and Joel were also at the same school. Joel had taken a physics major, while Anita had taken fine arts. In the fine arts class, she made friends with Filipa, who was a good painter, though their professor refused to acknowledge her talent. 

Did Joel remember anything about time travel?

Anita wanted to discuss the time-travel with Joel as she was back in the past. Joel could not remember anything, possibly the result of the book getting destroyed in the fire in the second season. His memory might have also faded because the two had gone back and forth several times through the portal. She had to remind him in detail about everything to do with time travel so that he could help her find the third time traveler. 

Did Carol and Henrique break up?

Carol and Bruna were pre-med, and the former was still in a loving relationship with her rockstar boyfriend Henrique. Carol and Henrique were in a long-distance relationship, and insecurities crept in when she saw him kiss a girl in their music video. The band was visiting all their friends on campus, when they realized they’d drifted apart. Carol could not take the burden of the long distance anymore and chose to break up with Henrique. 

Who did Anita suspect?

Anita suspected their new roommate Jessica to be the time traveler. Bruna, who had a crush on Jessica, also began to help Anita find dirt on her. Both found photographs of their new roommate with her older friends. Anita also found a computer in the college that has accessed Photo Blog. She found a hoodie that smelled of chewing gum and wondered if the person it belonged to was the time traveler. Jessica was being harassed by one of the boys from the college, and she had a hard time keeping him at bay. Anita and Bruna found Jessica paying him off, which made them wonder if it had anything to do with the time travel.

What was Jessica up to?

On confronting Jessica, she revealed that her old girlfriend’s brother had taken pictures of her from his sister‘s computer and leaked them online. She tried changing schools and taking down the pictures online, but that didn’t help. Anderson, the guy who was harassing her, had got his hands on her pictures yet again and was threatening to leak them. He demanded money in exchange for the pictures. Jessica revealed she had to sell her clothes for the money. All the girls from the Empress Crew House confronted Anderson and broke the device that held the images. 

What happened during the camping trip?

Jessica had become a good friend to the girls, and all of them, including Fabricio and Joel, joined the group for a picnic near a river. On their trip to the riverside, Anita and Joel found a dilapidated home and figured they could find a clue to end the Photo Blog there. They initially found only pictures of a man who they assumed was the owner of the house. The same evening, they found the man, whose name was Denis, heading towards the same house. On confronting him, they learned he used to work for Photo Blog many years ago and had gotten access to the time travel portal and used it to spot the love of his life. Denis claimed the frequent time travel messed with his memory, which led to his present condition. His attempts to delete his profile led to Anita opening one, followed by Joel hacking into it in the first season. When she tried to delete her profile, it moved to the person who was now time traveling, messing with Anita’s timeline.

Denis had a program in hand that could help them delete the Photo Blog website, which would end the phenomenon of time travel. As Denis was attempting to do that they found a person was peeping into their room. This was followed by the electricity of his home conking off and the program being stolen by what we assume by the same person. 

Why was Anita’s life running on the loop?

The next day after the picnic trip, Joel informed Anita the Photo Blog was updating itself. The online platform started updating itself by building a strong firewall so that no program could penetrate it to delete it. Both only had nineteen minutes to stop the update, and it could be done from the supercomputer at college. Joel and Anita were getting ready, but they were stopped by everyone at the house, for there was a costume party. At the end of the nineteen-minute countdown, Anita was back in the bed, being woken up by Joel again to remind her of the same concerns. 

Anita realized her life was on a loop, and this would keep happening until she stopped the update from the college computer. The loop happened several times, and Anita and Joel were unable to go beyond their home every time. After every loop, she would go into a limbo state, and she would see Joel with her, who asked her to look for people around them to find the culprit. During one of the loops, Anita confessed her love for Fabricio, as on the day of the picnic they came close to being in a relationship. Fabricio also came clean about his feelings as well. 

Who was the culprit?

A frustrated Anita lashed out at the whole group at home and spoke agitatedly. In a fit of anger, she destroyed Camilla’s laptop. This angered everyone in their home, and they asked Anita to move out immediately. A distraught Anita was inconsolable, and Filipa came out in the rain to pacify her. On hugging Filipa, she remembered the chewing gum scent she’d noticed on the hoodie. She quickly connected the dots and asked Filipa if she was a time traveler. Filipa was caught, and she confessed to having been time-traveling as she wanted to make her future perfect. She was the one who messed with Denis’ home to get hold of the program to destroy it so that Photo Blog was not permanently deleted. The nineteen-minute countdown did not come to an end, for there was no loop anymore as Filipa had destroyed the program, and Photo Blog was now updated with a strong firewall.

How did Anita ditch Filipa from the future?

Anita woke up in jail, and she was visited by Filipa. Filipa revealed she time traveled as she wanted to be a famous artist since she was unsure if her career as an artist would be taken seriously. She claimed to be jealous of Anita’s success in the future, which made her want to tamper with the past so that she could become successful herself. Anita gave her the idea of attempting the college art scholarship together by going to the past. This would help them have a better future as artists who worked together. Anita would do anything at this point to get out of the prison. She knew Filipa was vulnerable and manipulated her in the hope she would get access to Photo Blog and change the past and the future. Anita and Filipa were famous artists in the future, but it was the latter who was the controlling figure amongst the two. Filipa accidentally revealed her password to Anita, which helped go to the past and log out from Photo Blog. Filipa was pushed out of the computer lab as Anita went looking for Joel and the entire group to help save themselves from the wrath of Filipa and her vicious plans. 

Were Anita and Joel successful in deleting the Photo Blog?

Anita had to inform the whole group about the time travel because this was the only way to make sure they wouldn’t get carried away by Filipa’s lies. All of them were angry at Anita for the fit she threw, but they began to understand her dilemma. Everyone was initially skeptical, but since Joel was on her side, everyone came together to end the Photo Blog. Anita had to reveal her secret eventually, or else their future would be tampered with as well, thanks to the knowledge Filipa had. She would do anything to be famous in the future, but Anita did not want anyone to be hurt or sabotaged in any timeline. 

Joel and the team gathered information about the supercomputer from a nerd from the college and were ready to begin the process. They were followed by Denis, who heard them talking about the program that would delete Photo Blog. The makers did not specifically mention how Joel and Anita came into possession of the program if it was destroyed by Filipa. Anita and Joel were very close to their goal. The friends too wanted to be a part of the memory, as once Photo Blog was destroyed, the only timeline was the future, and no one knew who would end up with whom. All of them seemed excited for what would await them. Photo Blog time travel was complicated, but it seemed people were more happy than petrified about where they would end up, which is bizarre. 

Carol and Henrique reconciled as he visited the campus. After taking the picture of the whole group in the computer lab to be posted on the Photo Blog, they were interrupted by Denis, who wanted the website to remain as it was as he tried to time travel to meet the love of his life. Denis had given up on time travel, but we believe he wanted it to stick around so that he had the option of going back and meeting the love of life. Denis felt like the last-minute obstacle in the overtly complicated show. This subplot only extended the climax and made it strenuous. He had an altercation with and accidentally stabbed Fabricio. Fabricio and Anita shared one last kiss because they were not sure if they would end up with each other in the future. They had been in love since childhood; it was Anita’s time traveling that messed with their emotions. Anita was sure Fabricio was the one, and she wanted to delete the Photo Blog to find out if they would end up together. 

As Anita uploaded the photo, all of them were transported to the future. To Anita’s surprise, she was at Camilla’s party as they were celebrating fifteen years of her transition. Carol was still with Henrique, Filipa was with Joel, and Anita was with Fabricio. The older Anita was now in the timeline where she was happy to have found her group again. She was pleasantly surprised she did not have to worry about her future at all. The series finale ended with all of them coming together to celebrate Camilla, the only person who went through major changes in her life emotionally, physically, and mentally. All was well by the end of it.
